Welcome to NAM. Do a search here and you will find lots of information.

There are lots of other mods that can be done to 'tweek' a few more 'ponies' but the above are the most popular and give you the most bang for the buck in the order listed.

Good luck.

welcome to NAM. please try the search function and you will find exactly what you are looking for.
if you swapped engines it wouldn't be a MINI anymore.
But an answer anyways.

replace supercharger pulley with smaller one. 15% is most common, and for the more brave a 17%, and 19% in reduction. Just FYI the John Cooper Works uses a 13.8% reduction pulley. Best bang for the buck is the pulley, getting you around 16hp and 16lbs of torque. intake won't give you much but once you add other things it is more helpful. Will give you a couple extra horses. Exhaust will give you about 5-9 extra HP as well. And then finally a chip will give you another 10+ HP. Replacing the head is costly but early numbers are pretty good. Do lots of research first to find what you want exactly.

If a 15% reduction is 2.18 and the JCW is 2.21, then the JCW pulley is an even 14.0%.

everyone says lighter wheels.

i say.. LESS wheels!! Cutoff half the car and install 1 3rd wheel in the rear. If you are using the stock s-lites you will lose like 40lbs of rotating mass.

that will definitely make you feel more powerful!!

I lemoned my mini several weeks ago.

I'm not sure if it has more HP now but it does go a lot faster and wheel spin is furious while I am waiting for BMW to give me back my cash.

The car was Lemoned due to the yoyo that BMW tried to fix 6 times and eventually said it was a characteristic of the car - just in case you wanted to know.

Transporter_E38,

Aloha from Hawaii and welcome to NAM.
First question is do you want to keep your MINI warranty or do you not really care about it at all? Next is what is your budget and what do you want to do with this powerful MINI if you could do it?

IF you wish to retain a warranty then the JCW kit plus more of the full track upgrades from Cooper works might be worth a look. Or the new DINAN stage 2 upgrade kit for the MCS and full suspension/wheel/ everything upgrades that are coming this year would be also good but they are not yet released.

New JCW kits-

If you have about $5000 to $7000 and want to get power up in the 210+ HP range then just call Randy Webb at Webbmotorsport.com or Eric Savage at helix13.com and get talking about doing power mods for the MCS. There is much to be done to the engine, suspension, wheels, etc. But it all voids the warranty on the MINI.

Here are a few threads to read on upgrades for the MCS-
