If you read the product information from K&N it claims over 11hp.
Have you ever tried the RaceChip?
Or even been in a car with it installed?
If not perhaps you should try it.
If you have questions about the Race Chip why not ask them.
Dont knock it till you try it!

Claims 11hp? Now my question is, with a tune or no tune did you achieve that? Be honest. Because I promise you, it doesn't add 11hp with or without a tune. Intake is an intake, a downpipe can produce that number though. Take a look through the tests some companies did on an intake. It barely makes a difference, obviously 2nd gen MINIs get the blow off sound though, so that's cool. Reason I sold my DDM intake was because it was a waste.

As for the RaceChip, I'd love to truly see some numbers here. Before and after results. Until then, my butt dyno says I should stay put.

I never tested it to see the before and after numbers so i dont know. All i did was quote what the manufacture claimed to sell the item. I am not really sure why this was ever brought up by Inmymini, unless hes questioning my integrity.

I stated my opinion. This is my 5th Mini and i know them quite well. I added the Race Chip and i noticed a huge differance to the performance and i am very pleased with the product and the set up i have on my Mini.

Rob your butt dyno might be old. This is the newest model.

Butt Dyno

$529.95

Just install a great mod like a cold air intake? Electric supercharger? Big Muffler? Magnetic fuel line ionizer? Awesome wing? Are you getting no respect from your friends for your newly found power? As we all know, these are high end and sophisticated modifications. Some may be TOO sophisticated to actually show up on a traditional dyno. So here we have: The Butt Dyno. Simply place it in the seat, and drive fast, weaving in and out of traffic. (On a race course, of course.) Now you can tell your friends with confidence "That oil-saturated air filter gave me 20 horses!"

Anyone with a Racechip, Please give us some data, 0-60 OR 1/4 mile times: something. That is all we are wanting. If it only took 10 minutes to install, remove it and take the average of 5 runs to 60. Then do it again with the chip installed. I would love for this chip to work because I don't want to screw up my warranty. I also don't want a $750 paper weight!!!

Hahaha, I'm not old, but I'm sure I'd love to use it when I go to the drag strip and tell my buddies I added 30hp and can outrun their '12 Mustang GT500;-).

But please I'd love to see actual data. I'm getting annoyed with everyone's butt dyno. Proof of it all will solidify this product possibly in the MINI community.

It's just like me, when I decide which company can dyno tune my MINI in the Midwest then I will show before and after dyno sheet with all the information one needs.

Interesting that everyone on this thread that actually has a RaceChip likes it. Everyone that is bitching and complaining about RaceChip doesn't.

If you want more dyno, data logging, and what ever else. Go buy a RaceChip and knock yourself out. You can return it if it doesn't work out for you. Stop expecting everyone to do what you want to make you happy. Spend your own time/$$$$ and get your own answers.

I'm sorry that you thought your integrity was questioned...not the actual intent.

I was just pointing out how everyone seems to throw numbers out there with nothing more to back them up than, like in this case, some manufacture's claim...be it an intake, a chip, or even a tune.

But now I would wonder this: if the chip made a "huge difference" and others say it's a 30hp gain can you also stand behind the intake when it was on as making about 1/3 of that same
"huge difference"?

Martin no one asked you to do the dyno.

The other guy is doing the dyno without and with the RaceChip. So why would any of us buy it for no reason lol?

We will await results after next weekend or in two weeks like the person said. If you don't like us asking for it, well, that's a bummer.

Are you 100% satisfied with the product then congrats. This isn't a sure product and neither is a tune, as a matter of fact someone's R55 motor blew up recently from a tune. Everyone's curious, why ruin my engine if it is not a legitimate product? If it's great, then great for you end everyone else who has it.

That's great...I didn't know it was a no questions asked return policy. I may have to give it a go.

The only thing that might concern me is the issue I saw here earlier where it shipped to a customer but was set up for total different engine type. Best we know it didn't cause any damage, but I wouldn't want to be the one who had to say: "blown up sir"

When it comes down to it I'd be looking at Rob's offer to join up at Detroit Tuned for a hands on dyno assisted tune or try a chip and they're both right around the $700 mark.

But maybe the way to go is get the chip knowing I can return if I don't want it. Then swing by Detroit Tuned and see how everyone is making out. If their results are looking good, dyno with the chip in, compare both options (perfect world cuz it's the same dyno) and if Detroit Tuned is more to my liking get that done and ship the chip for a full refund on that Monday.

i will be glad to return it when it blows my engine up because it isnt a proven product and everyone comes on here from the company saying...

you have this guy...his car is infact faster than a m3....no real data...on top of that he is selling the product because his mini is toooo fast for him now
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...57-post15.html

you have this lady...with a total of 4 posts acting as if she is the ron popeil of this product...obviously works or is linked to the company.
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...59-post32.html

then you lost power(but were still happy for some reason), got something fixed dynoed on a different dyno and guessed that you gained 30hp
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...60-post50.html

this product has been out for a while...piggy backs are inferior to an actual flash tune. All this company has to do is pay for some dyno time and get some good data logs with concrete numbers. They are making themselves look worse by not doing this and making up fake names and coming on here promoting the product....zero integrity when they do that.

hell...send one to me...i will go to a dyno 10 minutes from my house...pay for dyno time and do 3 runs without and 3 runs with and then send it back to you.

Actually, the company selling the product should be providing the data. I am curious why they arent. Alta provided PAGES of information showing where and how they were making improvements with the Accessport.

We shouldn't have to buy it, test it ourself to determine if it is a safe product, then return if we dont like it.

That is the reason I have no intention of buying. No data, other than "it makes power" but "dont touch the screw"

plus he thought so highly of the product that he deemed it worthy of packaging it with an NM intake and selling them together for $400 total even though he had just the chip listed for $500

Obviously he's not worthy of a Mini. Perhaps a 1979 AMC Pacer with racing stripes dressed in a clown suit would suit him better.lol

I am curious. IF MiniDynamics said it is a money back guarantee, why did he just not return it and get all is money back instead of selling it with a NM intake and really losing money?
