The OFFICIAL MINI Dynamics ECU Tune Thread
I have decided to make a thread for the MINI Dynamics ECU Tune that is being discussed and mentioned by others through other tuning threads. All of us owners have been looking for alternatives whether you have a N14 or N18 MCS/JCW. Please any questions or any talk in general of MINI Dynamics Tune, keep it in here so we don't clutter other threads. As of March 27th, 2013, the word from MINI Dynamics is...
-March 27th - We expect in the next few weeks (in mid April) to be announcing an amazing breakthrough with an ECU Tuning Product for the MINI Cooper S & MINI Cooper JCW. This product will be available for ALL 2007 thru 2012 MINI's with the N14 motor and ALL 2011 thru 2013 MINI's with the N18 motor.
This joint venture between MINI Dynamics, an aftermarket manufacturer of MINI Copper Performance Parts, and our friends in Germany has been in development for almost a year now. We are finalizing the Dyno Testing results for a press release (in mid April) that confirms what our individual MINI testing has been telling us for the last few months. No further information will be released until all the test results have been gathered, collected and one simple FACT Sheet is formulated. We don't deal in speculation and rumors - when we bring a product online we have installed it on our personal cars, tested it and can verify it works. So please hold all the phone calls , we can't say any more until all data is in and all agreements are in place!
We currently have this new ECU Tuning Product installed on our personal MINI's and these 4 test vehicles:
^^
We now have to wait til Mid-April to find out what kind of tune they will be producing. Let's wait and see because they said it might be the most "exciting" product since the AccessPort.

Maybe someone from NM can say something about this company? They are listed as authorized dealers on the site.
Owner seems to be Scott Galloway and got some praise here

Understandable! I've had the AP installed on my car close to a year and while its provided decent results I'm not completely happy with it....unfortunately ($800+ bucks)! I was recently told if i needed a custom tune from them itd cost me even prior to the June support cutoff date. While I'm not looking forward to spending money again I'm leaning toward a dyno tune but if this thing isn't just the Accessport in different clothes I'll be interested.

I get waiting to see what's what with Mini Dynamics, but why "reluctantly" w/r/t NM? NM is a damn fine company. You're lucky they can tune yours!

WHOA...I'm not advertising them. People were bitching on the Accessport thread that they were talking about MINI dynamics tuning device or whatever they are trying to come up with. I am NOT affliated with them, nor am I trying to advertise them, but people wanted a thread for this specific one, so I made one.

But, I am sure it will be something similar to this.

Only reason I am reluctant is the shipping part. I am in Canada, so it has to go across the border twice, which can be a good way for things to go missing. Not to mention the down time.

Ah! That does suck. If Mini Dynamics doesn't come through, there's only one solution: ROAD TRIP!!!
