Torsen LSD, what fluid?

Sorry folks if this has been asked before, but I cant find the answer.

I'm installing a torsen LSD in the 04 MCS right now, what fluid should I use.
Since it's not a clutch type diff can I just use the Mini recommended fluid for non factory LSD cars?

Thanx!

IMO and from what many use, is the Redline MTL. Redline MTL has the correct weight and certification to fit the MINI factory specifications. According to Redline they say that MTL is the proper oil for cars equipped with LSD as well.

torsen and quaife both recommend using your factory fluid and don't have any special requirements. I have the redline in mine with the quaife and I see no issues

I've been using Royal Purple MaxGear 80/90 with no ill effects.

I did have Redline MTL 75/80 in the car, but I didn't like how it felt. I got more noise and a notchy shift feel with MTL. I have a rebuilt OBX Torsen unit in the car right now, and it seems much happier with the heavier-weight Royal Purple.

I've also heard running Redline ShockProof Light Weight is a good choice, too.

I used Redline lightweight shock proof oil. Looks like smurf blood but is suppose to reduce some of the chatter.
