Live diagnostic data ala BavTech for R53/R50?

Anyone ever found anything like Bavarian Technic's software (for bmw and later MINI) that works for the R53, giving live access to the engine management systems etc?

Before you say BavTech works for our cars...it doesn't. It's nothing more than a glorified code reader for the R50/53. Mine's going back shortly. It can't even access freeze frame data when codes ARE thrown. :(


So - anyone? I'd love to get access to the misfire monitors, throttle position, throttle body position, etc etc.. stuff my ODBII tools can't get to.

The FA Tuning kit logs those parameters to a MicroSD card on the MINIPort - but it doesn't display the info in real-time though ...

thanks! haven't come across that one yet. just dropped my order for the AE w/ bmw extensions - if it doesn't work out (...or I want to do some retuning!) I'll look your way. Appreciated!

although...

The ability to Data-log 30+ parameters via the OBD Port for trouble-shooting and performance monitoring (one vehicle per kit).
at 1 vin per $750, that's pretty far out there. (yes, it can do cool other tricks. $750 per vin isn't sooo bad there. but for read only mode?? )

For tuning and data-logging, it's per vin. FA53 allows you to tune (alter the ecu mappings) and log from that vehicle's ECU. When FA is loaded into an ecu, it uploads our coding to enable 'logging directly from the BMW code through the OBD port' onto the MINIPort MicroSD card @ 8 samples per second (which is about 8x faster than the OBD protocol - aka Scangauge or typical OBD Scan tool).

If you plug this MINIPort into another R53 WITHOUT FA loaded, the data won't come through.

But for DTC read/Clear and Adaptation Clear, this tool works on any R50/52/53 (non-vin specific)...
