From what I understand, JCW package offered by MINI dealerships is the official "WORKS," whereas the other upgrades are marketed under John Cooper "Motorsport" and not covered by MINI warranty. Hence, it might not be appropriate to refer to the 225hp and 265hp tuning kit as JCW kit.

Here's a list of what's available:

1. John Cooper Works kit: 200hp, available from MINI dealers, covered by warranty
2. Cooper S Challenge kit: 200hp, motorsport use only, no warranty
3. Cooper engine tuning kit 1: 225hp, motorsport use only, no warranty
4. Cooper engine tuning kit 2: 265hp, motorsport use only, no warranty

I think Sarcux is referring to the 18" JCW wheels, not the 16" MINI R90 wheels in the picture.

No they are not 18s. The wheels shown are the 16" version of the R90.

Those look like the fancy, chrome, non-adjustabole Bilsteins, not the PSS9's.

If nothing else, notice that the wheels in both pics on this thread dont have rivots, but the 17"R90s do. Hence (which is to say: since there is obviously a structural difference) I was wondering if these were "performance" wheels or just the same heavy wheels in a new package.

dare I email them?

The 17" R90s are "two-piece" wheels whereas the 16" R90s are a single piece. They are significantly lighter than the 17" version.

265hp Hmmmm. I think I smell a larger % reduction pulley in there someplace. This should fuel the debate on the 19% pulley!

Read earlier posts about 225hp and 265hp JCW mototsport kits. Spoke today with RELIABLE source in the Mini/JCW loop who informed me that Mini will be offering an upgraded JCW kit exceeding 200hp AND having same facory warranty as existing JCW kit. This is DIFFERENT that what JCW offers on their website. Source currently bound to secrecy by Mini as to details. Anyone hear any rumors to this effect?

Gabe posted earlier today that he has heard rumors (nothing confirmed) of a 220 hp JCW street version.

Looks to me, from the photo, that the 225 kit has a couple of exrta bits added to the JCW kit. The header and cat is of particular interest. It is difficult to see if a smaller pulley is in the mix. I want the add ons to the JCW kit. I can live without the complete racing package - until next week.
The 265 kit - the engine !!!!!

This doesn't apply to me but I wonder if there will be an upgrade for those that sunk the money into the 200hp kit...
