Drivetrain CNT vs Q300
CNT vs Q300
What does the extra $$$ for the Q300 get you? From what I have read here on NAM sounds like just the "Name Brand"
Just looking for a sound upgrade. Already know a catback won't give any HP gains.
The CNT seems like great value......and would work fine with a DP in the future (after warranty is up)

From what I've hear they both sound alike. I tend to believe the dyno on YouTube with the cnt due to the fact that it is a full 2.5 inch and removes the second cat. I removed my second cat when I was dynoing on e85 on a speed3 and saw very similar gains of 8-10hp and upwards of 20ft of tq at points in the power band. I will follow up with you as my Cnt will arrive this Tues.

Did you order from ebay or did you order direct. I'm not the biggest fan of the huge tips or the blue, but I like the price. To many people are brand name freaks. Totally understand you get what you pay for. But even harbor freight has items you can buy that work just as good as name brands. I think a catback exhaust is an area where you can get something like the CNT.
eBay, it comes from erzperformance either way but the eBay listing is $50 cheaper. Single pipe exhaust systems are not that complicated. things like stainless flanges and not steel as well as being a .25 inch thick are some of the things that sold me on it. The tips are too big from the pics I have seen, there has been one person here who painted there tips with duplicolor similar flat black engine enamel and that really helped hide them a bit. I already have a can waiting in the garage, plus my BRG with jcw aero will look like crap with blue tips. Btw from what I have seen the "catback" that have been dynoed were just that, catbacks. Removing the second cat seems to help a bit with turbo cars.
I am really anxious to see what you think about the sound. From the clips that i have heard it does not really sound that much different than stock. Please let us know what you think when you get yours on. To me it seems like the best bang for the buck. I would be all over the cnt exhaust if i would hear it in person.
I agree. The CNT and the Q300 IMO sound almost like stock. That's the downside of internet sound clips. You really have to hear an exhaust in person to get a true sound. Plus you can't beat the free shipping with the CNT as well. I just wish CA didn't have CARB. I would be all over a catless DP and a custom exhaust!!
Be sure to take some pics of your exhaust when it comes in. If you can get a before and after sound clip that would be killer. If I do end up getting the CNT I will more than likely make my own tips. I can TIG weld

I did, I'm undecided on it. First without question this exhaust added quiet a bit of midrange power from 3k to 5k as well as boost coming in quicker. The synonym that is posted with it seems creditable now, say what u want. Second, yes the clamps as stated by others suck! I bought some old school exhaust clamps at orliey that solved the exhaust leak. Third, I'm not sold on the size of the tips, if I keep the exhaust I will either use a scotch rite pad and or black dupicolor. And finally, the sound really is great, very deep, mellow and very easy when driving around town. I drive freeway home tonite to report on possible drone. Btw really nice welds and finish.

I am curious about the drone as well. From the videos online the exhaust almost sounds just like stock. Are you happy with the tone?
Sound clip or pics?
How much louder would you say it is over stock at wide open throttle? From the sound clips i have heard it does sound lower in tone but as it was reved it was hard to tell it over stock. Maybe if it was not loud enough do you think deleting the resonator would be overkill? Also with the supplied clamps it leaked?

It's advertised as 304 stainless, and I believe it based on the quality. Made a very nice color once it got heated up. Went back to pretty much polished after it cooled.
