I've been really annoyed with the lurching when attempting to drive off from standing start with a reasonable launch without smoking the tires or lugging off the line. Finally, I figured that it wasn't my clutch engagement but the soggy Y-axis engine damper. The slop designed into this damper isolates you from the engine vibrations but also allow a great deal of movement. When I take off from stand still, the clutch starts to slip while the damper rocks back taking up the slack. Once the clutch fully engages, the damper rocks back and forth causing the momentary lurch as if I dumped the clutch like a clutz.
