Intercooler partially covered by bumper???

First please allow me a moment to rant:
Why oh Why would they allow the stock bumper to block airflow to a significant area of the intercooler?!?!

My JCW has the standard MCS body. I'm itching badly to get the JCW body kit. Can somebody confirm if the JCW front bumper lower grille opening allows full exposure of the intercooler?

Thanks!

It does not completely unblock the intercooler. I wouldn't worry about it though unless you are running in some insane temp ranges it should not make a noticeable difference

This is with a Helix FMIC.

Whats with the passenger side headlight?

Also just buy a bigger front mount if your that worried about blocking the intercooler

Until you mentioned it, I never noticed. It has come loose inside. Thanks for noticing. I need to fix this soon.

100 degree temps and high humidity are the summer norm here and a Helix IC is already on the car. It just seems kinda crazy to drop the cash on a JCW body kit and not improve IC opening compared to the regular bumper. That's why I posted in this sub-forum and not exterior mods. So if the concensus is "fahgeddabowdit" then I will.

I'd still like to know whether or not the JCW grille opening exposes more of the IC to direct airflow.

If there is a difference, it ain't much.
Upgrading the intercooler before the opening is the smarter and more cost-effective route.

Thanks for the pics Erik. I don't think y'all get what I'm talking about. Here are a couple of products that address the issue. I want to know if the JCW bumper corrects the problem or not.

Actually, I do; I was showing that there's LITTLE difference between the OEM 'S'-model fascia cover and the JCW Aero Kit fascia.
There's still some blockage (virtually the same in comparison) with the JCW front fascia.

Yeah, those are for the use with the stock OEM intercooler.
The Madness MINI with the spray jets looks to be a great alternative for those who don't want to purchase a larger intercooler.

Thanks!
The JCW bumper still blocks the bottom of the OEM IC, just like the stock bumper.
