Scorpion Cat-Back Exhaust

I'm thinking about installing a Scorpion cat-back on my MCS. But I'm curious to see how loud it will be. Has another heard a Scorpion of a R55 or R56 and newer Cooper S? I've heard them on R50 and R53 which sounded nice. This system is manufactured in the UK and has is a really nice piece. What do all think?

Bavauto is the sole importer for Scorpion exhaust for Minis and BMWs.

No worry there. The scorpion is a nice mellow sounding exhaust.

Well I finally got around to installing the Scorpion R56 cat back in my MCS. The Scorpion system is a very quick and easy install. The piping is larger diameter than the OEM and is fully mandrel bent. "Much" freer flowing. The resonator, piping, and muffler fitted together perfectly. What a difference! The car sound much more aggressive and actually sounds really nice under full throttle ... it has the “proper” sound in my opinion. Quiet on start up, at idle, or low speeds. Has a nice rumble. Loud when at open throttle and at highway speeds it quiet enough that you can listen to the radio or talk normally with your passenger. The tips look far better and more aggressive than the OEMs.

Everything bolted right up.
I didn't see a price on that link you posted. If you don't mind me asking. What did it cost you shipped to your door?

Any Drone?

On bavauto.com part#533 BM49 lists for $899.95. I live locally so I picked it up. There's a little drone but not bad. I can live with it.

Just noticed Bavauto has both R56 S systems on clearance for $642.00 and the catless downpipe is $249.95.

No clue what the difference would be between Scorpion and Evolve. Scorpion has really nice products. I didn't go with the Scorpion dp but went with bavauto's own brand Rennenstil catless dp.

Alright after 7 months of having this system installed on my MCS. I'm not really happy with it that this point. It's not the sound or how loud it is. It' has something to do with how often I have to get under the car to either tighten up or adjust the system. It loosens up really easily. Causing either exhaust to leak into the cabin of the car. Or rattles or hits on the underside of the car. I'm about to have one of my Tech's fix it for good.

I'm still loving my VIP Custom DP back with the Ak DP. 5 or so months with no problems and the sound has gotten better. VIP has their own catless DP now too.

I ran the Bavauto dp for a short time and I don't see why anyone would want to drive car without a cat. It would have been different if I had software installed to make up for no cat. Oh well.

Okay, So apparently the rattling is coming for inside the resonator. The guts of the resonator have broken apart and that is what was rattling around. So I talk to one of the great customer service reps at Bavauto. And find out that the Scorpion has a lifetime warranty. And that they will warranty the system I have. So I swapped out the defective unit with the stock cat back.

Sorry to rehash such an old post, but there's no other threads relating to this specifically. In the end, were you happy with the Scorpion on the R56? And did you have the 90X76mm tips or the dual 90mm? Any feedback would be great.

I thought about the Milltek until I saw a thread about poor fitment issues around the rear valance. Also, I think it might be a bit too mellow, but thanks.

Any new Scorpion user's out there...

No poor fitment, we had no issues with them, one person was trying to fit one with a GP2 diffuser, which the exhaust was designed some time before that.
