Overheating because of Stage 1?

So my 06 MCS has started overheating..... I noticed my overflow tank burbling after I had a stage 1 power pack listed in the sig installed. They had to take off the supercharger to install the pulley because of extra "play" in the shaft. That means disconnecting the water pump also.... correct?

Is there a chance the system was not bled correctly to eliminate air? Compounded by the (I'm guessing?) extra heat created by the Stage 1 kit?
Should I install the colder thermostat? I live in NC and it gets toasty.

Prish.

It's possible the bleed was incomplete, but I'm curious what they did after removing the SC to address play in the shaft. No need for a different thermostat - the engine op temp is generally above the thermostat temp, so there's no real gain.

Don't change the thermostat. New cars run properly at a programed temp and unless you can change that, the car will always run on the warm up map like mine did. Very black tail pipe, crap MPG and below optimal performance for most of the time.

Air is most likely. New cars can't run with no cap on the radiator since they run over boiling sometimes so a leaky cap will be an issue also.

So, right before I was about to head to the MINI dealer to get a coolant flush n fill, my "mods" mechanic called back and told me to replace the reservoir cap. >$20 and problem fixed.

Thanks for the input y'all........
See you @ MOTD10!

For posterity: the thermostat controls the low end of the engine temperature range, and the cooling fan controls the top end of the temperature range. Changing to a cooler thermostat does nothing except mess with emissions by increasing the warm up time.
