crazy ideas floatin in my brain

I was thinkin about putting one of those "cannons" or jdm exhausts you usually see on hondas or eclipses. Any ideas? I would basically remove my resonator and stock muffler and just straight pipe it back. Making hangers would be easy since i know how to weld. Its a 2004 cooper s btw. Any suggestions?

You are on the wrong forums, you have and R53 and this is the R56 forums.

However, I do have an R53 racecar with a straight pipe. It is very loud and noticeable. I don't think you could live with it on the street, or not get noticed by the law enforcers!!

But anyway, i am involved with cars and drive a bunch of them, loud and not, so i could live with the sound, but i was wondering mainly, a, has anybody done it, and b, would it pass the decibal law? I dont know if you have one but in pa the cars volume musnt be above 120db i believe. :|

120dB? Really? That's like a jet taking off...lol

Please don't. I laugh everytime I see one of those cars. They make a lot of noise and aren't going fast. Besides, why give the police a lot of warning that you are coming? (or going)

The problem isn't outrunning the cop car, it's outrunning the Motorola.

Plenty of things you can do without going with a fart cannon. You may want to look into how much a magnaflow muffler would run you and have a shop make you a custom setup with one of those. For already made systems, you ought to look around on youtube, there should be plenty of clips with different setups for the 1st gen.

You are about to become a RICER and why not add a big wing that would help that car fly and have a sign TO WIDE TO TURN. You want to become a laughing stock then i support your project.

I'll assume you were joking there.

Like others have mentioned, if you want a loud exhaust put on some headers with a high flow cat and a Magnaflow. They're not known to be quiet but aren't fart cans either.
