ACT clutch problems!!?

So i have a 05 r53. and just replaced my stock clutch and flywheel with the heavy duty act clutch and flywheel (stage 2).

my problem is as soon as it was installed it makes the worst noise when i decelerate, ALMOST AS IF THERE IS TO MUCH PLY IN THE SPRINGS ON THE DISC!

is this normal has anyone had this problem?

I've heard the aftermarket aluminum flywheels can sound kind of "tinny", but I don't know if that's all the time or only when decelerating.

Who did the work and did they use the correct bolts for the pressure plate?

the stock bolts are M9 bolts and the ACT was shipping their setup with M8 however they tap'd their own Flywheel in M9. M8 will thread in, however they won't hold for too long. I found this out when bolting my ACT in with their supplied bolts. You need to use the stock pressure plate bolts and the easiest place to get them is from MINI. I tried to source them elsewhere, but with no luck!

if they did you the correct M9 bolts, then something else isnt correct because mine is very quiet.

when i contacted act they told me that because i upgraded my clutch that the noise i was hearing was from my gears slapping together. ACT swares by it and says nothing could go wrong with anything. also my performance shop that did the repair used all the right fluids bots etc. i just put about 300 miles on today and the sound got a little more quite but its still there.....????

any other sugetions?

I'm using the same clutch and flywheel as you without the noise. Did you use the redline lightweight shockproof oil for the trans? If not your probably getting gear chatter. Switch out the trans fluid and that should make a difference. And on to the flywheel and pressure plate bolts did you ask them specifically if they used the stock bolts on the flywheel? They will always tell you they used the right bolts you need to ask them which ones they used. otherwise you have a disaster waiting to happen.
