Drivetrain Cylinderhead parts
Cylinderhead parts
Hi guys,
A friend of mine wants to build his own head from the bottom down and asked me to search for valves, springs, locks and everything he needs for the build.
Does one of you know a shop/ebay/something like it that sells a kit or maybe one of you has got some advice on what to buy (brands, location etc). He is looking into exhaust + 0,5 mm and intake + 1 mm and all of the other parts needed to build the head into a performance head. He is doing all the porting and skimming himself
Thanks heaps!
Davy

Dave and PA, contact Thumper performance, Mike will set you in the right direction, or even get the parts for you. He uses a lot of the NitroStick components because of the quality and engeneering that went into them, and they are backed by CROWER. They have everything, "Behive" valve springs, Ti retainers, cams. He also knows where to scource bronze valve guides, custom valves (even Inconell) and all the related hardware to build a head capible of 8000+ RPM and handle cam's with 0.50" of lift.
NitroStick parts can also be ordered through Detroit Tuned, FES auto, and a few others.

In addition to Crower/Nitrostick, Supertech, Ferrea & Cosworth may have what you need.
The DIY route is admirable but guys like Thumper have hundreds of R & D hours on these heads & know what parts to get & what parts to forget. They'll know how much to safely remove around the exhaust ports without hitting a water jacket, what spring pressures & keepers work best. Whatever route you take, good luck with the project!

Yes, Thumper and perhaps many other guys who build heads probably have a number of stories about guys building their own heads. I'd at least converse with a couple of these guys before spending the money and time.
