I stumbled uppon this chucklehead last night in another thread, and right away had to call BS on his sig. Thought he was some new guy that inflates his HP figgures based uppon assumption. To the best of my knowledge there still hasn't been anybody to break through the 300 mark on an R56, close to it but no cigar. Until I see some real world dyno results I'm not buying it.
Another thing in his sig that makes no sence to me, is that he claims to be one of Canadas loudest cars, in an SPL compitition. Its a DD! There is NO way this is possible, and this comes from the 5 years of my life I spent competing in DB-Drag, taking me to Db-Drag world finals in Nashville twice! (Team QUAD) If what he says is true, he needs that 350 WHP just to tote around a full CONCRETE floor, Tripple layer Dynamat, MULTIPLE batterys, the 3" thick lexan windows, plus the sub's, amps, and 00 gauge power wire. This is all pretty much standard in EXTREME 9+ (The class he would need to be in to be "The LOUDEST hachback in Canada!)
His car would need to look something like this, to hold up to his statement. (I would know been there done that!)
On a last note, anything more than 300 WHP in a front wheel drive is too much for me. It might be fun going fast but its still gotta turn. (And not weigh more than an M1 Abrams)

Comical isn't it?
I flat out call BS...and have no shame in saying it. You've had numerous tuner's over the world trying to get bigger hp out of a R56, we've seen a variety of turbo's used, and no one is even close to 350whp. Oldbrokenwind has probably done the nicest job of detailing such a build publically, and even with his GT28RS he's only making 282whp...Alta's results with the GT2560 were similar. So far this 20-post wonder has provided ZERO details on this monster car...other than asking people's opinion on what is considered enough horsepower to brag about.
But hey, wouldn't it be nice to be proven wrong?

One of the great features of the R56 is its variable cam timing. It allows great mileage when performance isn't wanted, like on a long trip. My 282 HP gets anywhere between 35 & 40 mpg on a trip, and that's using odometer and gallons to calculate, not the ECU. And, I can get fearless (stupid) when passing on the hiway.
Biggest problem with a non-OEM turbo is getting a good map to make it all work --- very time consuming on a dyno! One guy in Europe had upgrades similar to mine, with Schrick cams. I heard he tore it down and sold off the goodies. Probably because he couldn't get a good map. I'm using the AccessPort which doesn't work on European models --- yet.
What's enough? Depends on what you want to do with it. My next upgrade is OS Giken clutch, lightened flywheel, and limited slip diff. No extra HP, but should be quicker accel (to help offset the turbo lag) with less tire spin. I'm not building this thing for the track, so minimum suspension upgrades. I'm looking for straight-line acceleration. Yes, I'm also thinking about water-meth, just not yet.
So far, I have all the bragging rights I want. There's always going to be someone out there with a bigger / badder machine. Maybe not a Mini, but easily bigger and badder.

I want some troll spray too. HAH !!!!!
So far, not dyno'd this one, 217+ WHP for a Pontiac/Chevy 3.4L 4 cam (the weekend toy), so theres real numbers. The MCA so far has a K&N Typhoon (+11.17 according to them on a stock turbo), no tune yet, thats about it, so that would be like what 188 - 190 at the crank? So far the only MINI Ive seen so far I would believe 350+ is the Hemi up in NY, with a 6-71 GMC huffer. Check the youtube video, its ignorant. Yea, dog ..............

Bigprf, it came w/ a dyno sheet. I havent seen K&N to be one that lies about HP numbers, they have too much at stake, any idea how much $$$$$$$$ those guys generate every year? I'd like to have just their advertising revenue .............
So even if its only 6 or 7, still worth it. Million mile warranty, wash it and throw it back, and it sounds mean.

Not trying to make this about your intake... so as Ricky Bobby would say "with all due respect"
Intake and exhaust just make nice noise... You will see higher numbers with a panel filter in the stock airbox and i have an NM intake "system" <---- pipe and a filter
All marketing
Estimated hp...
This is why k&n can say what they want, nice little disclaimer
http://www.knfilters.com/hp_gains.htm
PS: its ok... i paid a lot more for my noise maker, im not pointing at you but coming from a technical aspect... Once you realize what works and what doesnt... makes me wonder why i dont make parts and write a disclaimer and become filthy rich.

I still want to know how he can claim to be one of the loudest cars in Canada, with a DD. Maby in street 1-2 class, but that's not what his sig says.
And with the amount of 400+ HP CIVIC's running around the states, how his sound competition supposedly 350 HP MINI can be the fastest hatch in Canada aswell.

Chill out on the street and go to the track. That's where I get all my speed kicks instead of America's innumerable straight roads.

I rode in it the night he hit 330whp.....never felt anything like it before, wicked fast. Yet, completely controllable and driveable...it's a thing of beauty.
