Sprintex is JUNK, backed up by FOUR years of data collection across multiple forums!

I do not support the use, or even the sale of this product.

Picked up my intake this afrernoon on the way home from work and finally got started on my install.

Didn't get to far today though, I was also waiting on some bonding compound for my core support, it came in also, so I spent a good hour working on fixing some cracks and breaks in it.

As for the motor, intake is back on, idler assembly is on, and S/C is temporarily mounted. I've only ran into two problems so far, 1st I'm using an engine damper and the I/C horn hits the front mounting bracket, so I'm going by a friends in the way home from work to do a little customizing to the bracket. 2nd the bottom bolt for the S/C doesn't want to go in all the way, I think the original bolt probably didn't go in as far so the threads just need to be cleaned, so I'm also picking up a tap and shorter bolt just to cover all my bases.

So far everything has been fairly straight forward and not difficult at all :knock-on-wood:, hope to get at least another couple of hours in when I get home. I still have to repair a torn axle boot before the car will be on the street, and am working all of this in with my 13hr work days, so I don't expect to actually be finished before the w/e.

As of today

Talk about an anti-RMW build. Although it would be hard for me to not get the anti-reversion 4-1 header by them for a build like this.

Well, its not that I'm anti RMW

But - and now its coming..
I live in Holland, and everytime I would want to get a RMW-part I need to pay customs and taxes and stuff. On top of that, RMW-products are priced fairly high compared to other manufacturers. Last thing is that I just dont have 15k lying on the table to get a custom engine. So, I am definitely not anti-RMW but things just went another way.

Recieved the Janspeed manifold this week and will be port matching it to the TPR2R head, so it flows nicely

Anywhow; next monday its off to 1320 for a remap and most likely a 60 mm pulley. I'll keep you guys posted

Was only able to put in about 2 hrs today, re-mounted my engine damper bracket & such, then installed the S/C, tensioner, belt, alt., dipstick tube, knock sensor and Bypass/Intake horn. (anyone else who does this there are two things to point out: 1. The bolts in the tensioner tool are only there as fulcrums, they do not fit into any if the slots or holes for leverage or to secure the bar. 2. When installing the dipstick tube, install the S/C bolt first and make sure that it is threading correctly before you do the block bolt.)

W/P and most everything else should go on tomorrow, up to the point of the core support, I'm going to stop at that point so that I can do my axle boot repair while I have all that extra access to it.
Hope to be completely done by Sat.

BlwnAway, with these mods; DT/BPV, RMW Head, Match Ported Intake Manifold, Sprintex S/C w/ 70mm Pulley, Mynes V2 Header, worn out JCW exhaust, NS2 cam, 550cc Injectors, Mynes Tune & F/A software, 7850 redline.

Do you think the 70mm system will run out of the box? When and who is doing the tuning?

According to my info well enough to get me started simply because the only new thing is the Sprintex, the car has been tuned and running for all the other mods for a good long while now. (I have probably 35,000 miles on the car since the last mod -except header- and tune, except small adjustments.)

Jay @ Mynes is going to help me tweak it if needed using my on the street datalogs & the Bytronik F/A

Sorry to say but no real progress today, got the W/P installed and found another glitch with the kit, my factory heater hose to the W/P is to short, easier to replace with the W/P out so I'm basiclly where I left off untill tomorrow. (only two problems so far so as far as kits go it's really pretty good, it would only really be a problem if you didn't know about these things ahead of time and were trying to do this all in one day)

That hose was to short with my install as well. I needed to get a piece of hose at a farmer-machinery-store cause all the car-shops didnt have that diameter hose.

Car is still running great, feeling really strong
I'm so looking forward to getting it tuned with the 60 mm pulley!

One of my O-rings, the one that goes over the inlet-mating-face was far too large and was broken as well. I needed to replace that with a new, fitting one as well. So you might want to check up on that before you go further

Nope all of the O rings were right and OK, thanks though, hate to loose another day for something trivial.

I could have gone to the parts store, but by the time I got back I woild have had to quit anyway to get some sleep, so I figured just take advantage of the extra time, I've only been avg.ing 41/2 hours a day this week because of this project.

****'s said his heater hose was ok, must be something in the model years thats slightly different.

Ok, ran out of day Fri. so I couldn't do anything, but got everything done up to the core support today. (only took about 2 1/2 hours so it actually went pretty quick, going to get up early and do my axle boot, if that goes quick I may finish up but I have to quit by noon, (other plans) so I should start her up by mon. at the latest.

New S/C & cool new electric W/P, how cool is it to be able to bleed & refill the cooling system without ever starting the car.

Happy to see the progress. Just remember to use the right coolent to water ratio, the car will run hot if you dont (I found out the hard way). You also might have to squeese the hoses durring the coolent bleed out, there was quite a few bubbles in mine even after I bled the system, and have your heater on while you do it.

Well Colorado officaly hit video game season today. I hate the cold!

I am leaving tonight on a road-trip to England

Car is running very strong, very well and has lasted longer than 18 miles so far. Havent had any codes popping up and since changing to a Janspeed that we port-matched to 42 by 28 mm big exhaust ports on the mnifold the thing is making a hell of a noise!

Looking forward to putting the 550's on at 1320 and getting it mapped with a 60 mm pulley!

Keep you guys updated

Not much progress as far as the S/C install goes, Sun. was a "it's 80 degrees and we're taking the bike out, mister" day so I guess you all know what I did.

Started on my pass. side axle boot repair and ended up snapping the head off of my spindle pinch bolt (I highly recomend avoiding this if you can) so I spent most of what little time I had drilling the bolt out of the spindle and running for parts.

Today I finished up the repair on the axle boot and got the inner fenderwell, core support and a/c condensor back in.

All I have to do is attach my radiator hoses, fill & bleed the cooling system, fog light wiring and re-attach the bumper & cover. All should be done this afternoon, weather permitting. (it's supposed to rain sometime.)

When I'm all done not only will I give you my impressions and results on the S/C but I'll throw in a little opinion on the kit from a D.I.Y. standpoint as well.
