R56 Upper radiator Hose Inner diameter size?

Does anyone know what the inside diameter of the upper hose is? I'm guessing 1.25", but could be wrong. Looking for a temp sender adapter thats not so expensive and need to know size. thanks

Versus taking the circumfrence of the pipe, converting to the diameter and subtracting twice the wall thickness?

Did you ever figure out the inside diameter of the hose? I think I'm doing exactly what you were doing. Just got a Prosport Water Temp guage and now I'm looking to get their hose adapter to mount the sender.

Thanks!

As Erik said, you'd save yourself a lot of time by just measuring it yourself, take the circumference, subtract two times the wall thickness from the diameter. If ones willing to mount a sender unit, you should be able to do this.

To get a diameter from a circumference, pi * D = circumference, where pi = 3.1415, and D = diameter.

So for Diameter, its D = Circumference / 3.1415

Measure the diameter by taking a piece of string and wrapping it around the hose, mark it off with your finger, and unroll it straight onto a ruler to give you the length.

For the wall thickness, its the thickness of the rubber hose.

Alternatively, you can just run a ruler roughly across the center of the pipe, and round it to the nearest "known" ID value, but the circumference method may yield a more accurate result.

1.25 inch according to a part match found on Oreily's site.

http://m.oreillyauto.com/mt/www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/GAT0/23483/01358.oap?year=2011&make=Mini&model=Cooper&vi=1501 047&ck=Search_coolant+hose_01358_1501047_2854&keyw ord=coolant+hose&pt=01358&ppt=C0331

Can anyone confirm that fitment is right with a 1.25' hose? I need to replace the two hoses that are connected by a metal coupler that was left behind after a recall. Thanks!
