Correct, but that's the water-jacket being cycled through; that's not the oil being circulated.
He said he didn't like all the heat that is sitting in the turbo - which is exactly what the circulating water is taking care of - after engine shutdown..

This is cooling down the center section of the turbo. The turbine housing is still radiating heat into the oil line, which at this point has no oil circulating in it. Neither of these 2 items is cooled directly by the circulating coolant.
I have done both. Mainly have to coast into parking very low load.
Anyways just put the car back in the shop this am. high turbo lag.....i mean long. almost up to 3500. no low end trq. engine shaking from left to right. CEL on and off. nThis is just the end product of the turbo failure. my SA just shook his head and laughed as i walked in the door! this is good times. hopefully she will be fixed by the 9th for a norcals trip the wife and taking!

I just dont like heat sitting on the bearings when it is off. causes later malfunctions and decreases turbo life.
Talked to my SA today and found out the car is in a heap of crap. They have spent the last 2 days trying to figure out why is has a 15% decrease in power, CEL goes on/off. The engine rocks left to right instead of front and back. This is after getting her back after the turbo failure. She is over at BMW getting worked on. They still are trying to figure out why she is doing what she is doing and why she is so angry and doesn't want to run right!
Got smurf back today! Cracked valve cover! Hey folks... if you are getting oil around your head gasket and cover and have a surge while idling...you have a cracked valve cover! FYI. She runs like brand new all over again. The only thing not new in the engine is the pistons and valves!
