Horrible Sound!

Fellow Mini Owners,
I'm having this horrible sound coming from what I think is my clutch when I come out of first gear. it's not a grinding sounds but not a squeak either. Very hard to describe. Any qord on what this might possibly be so I can get this fixed?

Thanks

He's not trolling you, that's a serious question. My car makes the chewbacca noise.

Actually ya know, thinking about it, yes it does sound like chewy. And no matter how I left off the clutch, sound is always there. Don't know if I should get clutch replaced or what.

Cheers

If it sounds like chewbaca...the dual mass portion of the flyeheel (anybody think of a better way to explain it) is stuck...making the sound....
If may unstick and go away...or remain...solution is a new flywheel and clutch....or just live with it....

I have had my clutch replaced twice. The last one is louder than the first two were. I have just come to accept it. At least it gives people warning that I am pulling into traffic.

I swear it seems worse depending on the weather. It seems to occur more often when it is humid.

ive noticed the temperature and weather dependence as well. also happens to me less once the engine is warm. but yea, 3 clutches here, and they all started doing it eventually
Ive been told it has to do with the flywheel glazing, and that there is no performance loss, but it just makes that noise sometimes.

Alright, I guess if it'll happen, I'll just have to deal with it. I'm glad I got your input.

Seems like a "hard" down-shift might unstick it.

I don't have the dual mass and I have the sound. I have an aftermarket SPEC flywheel with OEM clutch. really aggrevating.
