Drivetrain spark plug popped out
spark plug popped out
My spark plug popped out. I never changed it and no one else has in at least a year. The other day it just popped out. I took it to the shop they said it had aluminum threading on it. I bought this car used with a bumper to bumper warranty with fidelity warranty services. The warranty company says some over torqured the plug and that's not their responsibility. now I have a 2000$ heli coil repair estimate. What can I do? Can I get Mini in on this?
+1
New shop....
A careful mechanic can helicoil it in place...
$2000 sounds like a head removal and s helicoil+install....if you do that...get the head machined...
Second the wondering on the brand....Denso by any chance?!

I have heard that this does happen. Most people use a product called time-sert to fit it and it seems to work well after. See this link: http://www.timesert.com/
I remember that a friend told me this fix was around $350 or so.
