Heat after helix SSK install

I guess do to the plasic lid under the shifter being left off, I get alot of heat under the shift boot and all the trim around the shifter. This wouldn't concern me but I do almost allways put A coke can in the cup holder, which is now warming my cold beverage really quick.

Anyone eles notice this happening and or do something about it?

Yeah that's a common side effect from removing the plastic lid, if you do a search you will find others (including me) with the same side effect. I think there are aftermarket lids that extend a bit so as to cover the extension but right now I can't think of who sells them. The effect is severely increased if you have your windows down and/or sunroof open. If everything is closed it will take a lot longer for the heat to conduct/convect inside the cabin.

Ask Way if he'll sell you just the extended cover for cheaper. Also, I took the boot off and packed a rag around the shift box to prevent noise/heat. Seems to work well so far.

Yeah I've got a few of the NM covers without the plastic part that I can get you a great deal on, just takes a few to attach it to your factory cover.
