Jeremy from www.flowfaster.com has kindly agreed to offer the Borla Sport/Race exhaust to 5 of us at a very fair discount from his already extremely low prices.

$600 (including freight) will have this bad boy at your front door, just screaming to be installed.

It might not be the newest out, but it's a proven winner and worth every penny. Check around, you won't easily find another price this low. Plus, it has a million mile warranty to back it up.

They're ready to ship, I just need 4 lucky people to contact me or Jeremy with your info.

Note: I have edited the price to reflect the correct amount.

Yeah I remember, you got yours at a very good price. $575 plus shipping, right?? I haven't seen a price like that since. I would have jumped on that too, but I had the Borla street at the time. Now I'm going for more sound and hopefully a little more HP.
>>Shipped to my door, or to you and then shipped to me....

Shipped directly to you. If 4 sign up quick, they will go out on Monday and possibly at your door before EOW.

Did you get to hear both? If so, was the race much louder?

I have the UUC and my brother has the Borla Race. i have to say, the Race really isn't very loud. I wouldn't want to pay big bucks for an exhaust and have it be quieter than the Borla Race b/c what would be the point. The stock exhaust is quiet enough. My UUC is easily 2-3 times louder than the Borla RACE. And I'm not a big loud, volume exhaust guy either. But I don't think the Borla Race is loud at all. But opinions will vary.

the only aftermarket MINI exhaust ive ever heard was from the ItalianJob movie.
Compared to the GreddyEvo/PE + Honda motor type exhaust note the movie had,
is the Borla more of a lower pitched tone or a higher M3 type beaming type
tone? or very similar to the movie tone?

Im sort of a non-riced honda-freak so that tone is actually good to me.
How does the Borla compare?

Shall I opt for the Milltek?

the only mods i would do to my MCS is the exhaust and KW variant2.

The Borla Street was very easy to put, I did it myself. The only difficult part was installing the hangars.

I haven't heard from anyone that has heard the Borla in person that it sounds honda like. My street didn't and from the sound clips I've heard, this just sounds deeper.

>>Shall I opt for the Milltek?

I was/am interested in the Milltek too, but I've been waiting a long time and still can't get one until late Feb or early March. The Borla can ship Monday if 4 people sign up. I know the Milltek is the hot exhaust of the moment, but I don't think in the long run I will notice much difference. Especially considering I am saving some money to boot. The million mile warranty goes along way too.

Where did you guys get the original group buy from? $20 is $20 so if they are still around why not approach them?

jboo- thanks for the info. Yeh, looking at how many pieces the borla comes in,
I think it will make it easy for one person to install it due to the lightness (lbs)
of each part.

Im not a big fan of the real ricy honda tone so the lower note is good...but
until I hear it not sure if borla's one for me.

Im thinking Borla (basically just due to the price and probable ease of installation)
or the QuickSilver due to its lightweight design. Milltek seems to be the one,
but if they don't have it in stock i can get something else.

Husker performance, but their price is now $665. Last time, if I remember correctly, they said that was a one time offer, not to mention it took several weeks from the start for people to get their exhausts. Most of the vendors are asking much higher than $665 though and very few offer group buys anymore, for some reason another. I'd sacrifice $20 to have it here in a week.

Kenchan-

There was a clip on Mini2 posted by TomM, however, the links not working anymore. Maybe you should PM him, because that's all I had to hear to make up my mind.

Yes I've heard both...
The Street is a bit louder than stock...
The Race... is substancially louder than stock.
It's all subjective..so you must listen yourself... and make your own decision...

Peace,
D

I think the list above encompasses the units worth buying, but I would be happy to offer my input on other systems out there - NRP, Alta, Quicksilver, Stebro, B&B, etc.

Hope that helps!

I just ordered a Borla Race exhaust from flowfaster.com last friday. Can't beat their prices by far! I was trying to hear it in person first, but couldn't wait and bit the bullet and just ordered it. Hopefully I'll get it sometime this coming week, just in time to install it next weekend.

Cheers, Ryan

I'm gonna jump in again.

I've lived thru the exhaust wars
I've had the stock system, the Magnaflow, the QuickSilver and the Borla Street on my MCS.....
Please do yourselves a favor ......
-find a car(s) that has the system you want to test out
-listen to it (from inside the cabin and outside the cabin)...as varied speeds and conditions
-if possible ....drive the car w/ the sysytem you want to test out.
-compare published HP/torque gains

Then and only then...will you be able to make a...personal...decision

Everyone hears things a bit different...the exhaust sound made by these aftermarket exhausts ...is subjective.

Peace,
D

JBOO,

I just ordered the Milltek Sport system from Stratmosphere last week and they had a couple in stock. They actually had one of the orginal systems, not the 3-piece, which they were willing to reduce by $100. You may want to consider this system for $595 since it has just as many pieces as the Borla. Milltek quality, fit and finish is great and the sound is awesome.

I think for most this is eaiser said than done.. I think for most people the sound clips and information they get from others will be sufficient or the most they can get. Most want loud or they don't want it loud. I also think most people with live with whatever decision they make alot better than you would...

Jason-

I'm sure you will enjoy the older Milltek, as it seems many people in the UK do. The Milltek, even the new 3 piece design, retails for $695. Most vendors sale the Borla for more than $700. I've seen some over $750
