looking to get my R53 to breathe better, gonna "one ball" with a magnaflow and get an airbox (goin the cheap route) any input?

To summarize every thread out there. DDM is the "best", Alta is the loudest, Dinan (out of production) is the quietest. Dinan and JCW have the best heatsoak resistance, since they are polymer and not metal.

found a used alta for $120. im gonna "one ball" the exhaust with a flowmaster or a magnaflow and have a cat-delete pipe made/installed this week. thanks for the info guys, im new to forums and new to mini. love the car so far! 2006 NCS 6 speed w 28k... got it last week for $13.5k

 

If you haven't gotten the alta, consider the mini mania intake. $95.00 brand new, with heat shield and what not. I love mine, its a very nice intake, well worth the 95 bucks. made a huge improvement.
