I have the opportunity to purchase a very slightly used Milltek cat back for my 06 R53 and have a couple of questions for any Milltek owners out there.

The owner does not know what year the system came off of as it was his son's car and he is in the military and a bit hard to get a hold of at the moment. I understand that the bracket configurations changed from the 2002/2003 models to the current 2004-2006's, but don't know anything about the change.

I have looked at the Milltek website and it shows a pic of a system (attached), can anyone tell me if this is for a 2004-2006 R53 or for a 2002-2003? See Pic.

Also, in the description for the system on the Milltek Website, it indicates that the system includes "locators for 2004 cars". Does anyone know if the 2004-2006 systems are built as a direct bolt these years, and these locators allow a retro-fit for the 2002-2003 models or is it the other way around? For any 2004-2006 Milltek users, was your system a direct bolt on?

Finally, I know that some manufacturer's have a metal plate with a part number or some other type of identifier welded on to each unit, do the Milltek's have any type of identifier that I can use to contact Milletek and fond out the year the system was made for?

I have sent a message last week to Milltek asking the same, but have yet to hear form them .

On the rear mufflers the inner hangers can be changed.

When they point toward the middle they are for the 04-06, if they point like the outer hangers front to back they for the 02-03

Looking at your pic you already have the 04-06 hangers installed

sorry to bring back this thread again. would just like to ask i have a 05 mcs and i bought a used milltek catback from a 2002-2004 model mcs. so now, i installed the exhaust. however, i didn't put the inner bracket/bushing because it doesn't fit. just want to ask if i can buy the hangers/bushings for the 2002-04 model and put it in my car? i can't find those hangers/bushing or even the part number for the 2002-2004 model. thanks for the help

 

I had a similar issue with mine. Call way, he just might have some extra brackets lying around to sell.
