Ireland engineering exhaust

Who's got one? there is info about it on the exhaust reference thread, but im lookin for someone who acctually owns this system...

link: http://store.nexternal.com/shared/St...unt2=423560738

Opinions?

Edit: I just realized that the link doesn't work. You have to navigate to it, go to: Mini:exhaust and its right there.

Well, there is a thread on this exhaust with plenty of positive opinions from actual owners. I will step up and say I've had mine for 3 years and still love it. I had to do some simple modifications to make it fit, but nothing hard at all. My opinion, with the big mouth exhaust tip, this exhaust system is one of the best bang for your buck upgrades. If you have any questions, let me know.

I have one, mine was used and had been modded to fit an earlier year, so I had to mod it back and make some small adjustments- completely happy with mine.

Don't forget the OBX exhaust system for a cheap alternative. Lots of happy customers there also.

wrh3- how does it sound? is it too loud? does it sound good, or a little too loud? did you notice any difference in performance?

And mini33342- never heard of the obx before. looks nice, but i think i would be more inclined to go for the ireland, it just seems a little bit nicer. thanks for adding in that option! the other one im considering is the tsudo, but i think i would almost rather go one ball than do the tsudo, honestly.

I have an Ireland Engineering (IE) pipe on my '05 MCS. It gave my MINI a lot more steam across most of the powerband. It is a loud pipe but bearable. A friend of mine in the Shasta Minis, Norm Nelson, has a Borla on his bad flamed, black '04 JCW and that pipe is really LOUD!! On our trip up the coast to Penticton, BC, Canada for the Mini Meet West back in June, when we went through a tunnel, my pipe is usually pretty loud but Norm's Borla drowned it out.
My IE pipe sounds great but still allows me to hear my sound system, even when I'm on the gas but I must admit I crank my Pioneer system up a lot most of the time (a replacement for the blown up Harman Kardon amp...which is another story all together). My wife thinks the IE pipe is too loud, which translates into "it sounds just right".
I see you're in the SF Bay Area...I live in Marin County and I've had the pipe on my car for about 2 yrs. I bought it off a guy on Craig's list (from Pt. Richmond) who put on another system.
One thing you'll notice is that the exhaust does not come equally out both pipes. On You Tube, some guys complain about this, but who really cares. As you probably know, the exhaust goes out the quickest way, which on the IE pipe is via the left pipe. I think the other one was welded on more for aesthics, so the pipe fit the opening.

Ireland Engineering cat-back pipe...

Hey luseboy. send me your email address and I'll send you some pics of the IE pipe on my car. As far as I know, mine is one of the few in the north Bay Area. At Mini Meet West in Canada, it was the only one. 2Patz@comcast.net
