custom exhaust build thread part II VIDEOS!!!!
update: VIDEOOOOO!!!!
original thread here
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ld-thread.html
its now complete!
and the works! I know.. i need to clean off the slag and grind the welds down...
and then polish it...
and a video!
no driving clips yet... soon though...
this is with the cutout closed.
cutout open is not much louder, mabe 2-3dba at idle, and ~10 at wot, but it burbbles a lot more and has more of a raspy tone to it.
ignore the rattle... its a failed powerflex tensioner bushing and is being replaced as soon as powerflex ships me the new one.

the cutout essentially removes the 2 resonator loop from the system.
It causes a loss in low end torque (minor) and a gain in flow at the top end (inc in hosepower) as well as it adds some noise, and changes the tone of the exhaust to a more rhaspy burble-enfused race exhaust sound (but not too loud for the street) I did this because i can have it quiet and low end torque for day to day and on the highway, and then open it up for some high speed passes at track days, autocrosses and the like without having to change the entire exhaust.
It weighs about 10lbs less than stock too. (somehow....)
but to clarify, when the cutout is open, it still goes through one more muffler and out the tips, it does not dump under the car.
car is being dynomatted fairly soon, which should make this perfect for me.

rolling shots!
Volume level is not different, i realize that, but thats on the video. My camera auto-adjusts its mic sensitivity.

just realize how prominent the supercharger is in one.. vs the other...
edit: posted video link in first post
