finally got my Snow meth kit workin!!!

ok so i purchased a meth water injection kit from Snow performance...for my 2005 Mini cooper s
i am using 50/50 water to meth...i have no dyno numbers yet but i went for a good hard rip, and usually without the meth after a good run you could not touch the intercooler without burning your hand...Now with the meth the intercooler feels cold, colder then b4 i even started it...so its safe to say that i think it works....i will let u know the numbers when i get them...
cheers

Can you show us pictures. Also did you tune the car after the meth?

Do you have a wideband if so what are your A/Fs at? Also what size nozzle are you running.

... and where is your nozzle installed? Most of us spray post-IC - so the spray won't affect IC temp, only intake temp. If you spray pre-IC, that will keep your IC cooler... but it's also possible for w/m to pool in the IC, which can reduce IC efficiency and cause other problems IIRC.

the nozzle is before the t/b....seems to work good.....mini mania or madness said that would be the best location just for cooling use....and its not tuned for meth. i am not using it as a power adder just to keep things cool for safety and longevity of the sc and motor...

Running the water/meth pre S/C makes sense to me, some people say that it is hard on the S/C, and will collect in the I/C but as long as you are using a really small jet and not shuting the engine down while you are spraying you should be OK.

People with old school blower cars run gas through the S/C all the time, it actualy helps seal the gaps between the rotors and case of the charger. As for the water pooling in the intercooler, it shuldnt be a problem, there isnt enough fluid to collect, and as long as tou are driving without the meth spraying, the hot air shuld dry it out.

It would be interesting to try both and data log intake temps... I thought someone had done this already and determined you get more bang from post-IC installation- I get temps well below ambient with my setup...

In my opinion, if you where to run a verry small jet pre I/C and a slightly smaller than normal jet post I/C aimed directly into the plenum of the intake manifold it would be ideal. That way your I/C stays cold for when the meth isnt being injected, plus you are dropping temps at the scource.

Methanol eats gaskets unless they are specifically made for it. This isn't a problem as long as it is atomized in air that is about to be burned, but you don't want it pooling on the wrong spot.

When run the boost comes on AIT goes down 20F or so just about instantly getting below ambient. Without data logging it is hard to be precise, but looking at the Scangauge I see lower than anbient after a meth spray. I think if you inject before the intercooler it may make it harder to get below ambient since the IC will be working against you at that time.
