MCS engine stalls when cold

Okay will in my signature you can see mods on my MCS. When I start my car in the mornings it idles really rough to a point it will stall out. If i try driving it when cold when I get to the stop sign the car will stall out again. This only happens if I don't warm it up first. When it's hot it runs great. I live in the Miami area so it's not cold outside. Any ideas if what I can do? I have 60,000 miles on the car.

This could be difficult to diagnose. Any other issues such as recent poor gas mileage numbers by chance ?

How long has it been since the air filter was cleaned/oiled ?

From there I would check the spark plugs, and if they are ok, maybe have the fuel pressure checked at the rail for any low numbers.

btw: Your signature doesn't indicate, are you running stock injectors with all those mods ?

Well its been about 5k since last oil change and filter cleaning. Gas mileage has been around 20.5. I drive in city a lot. Spark plugs are about 6 months old bought them when I installed pulley. They were purchased from Alta. They are a colder than stock set. Fuel pressure don't know where to check. Any assistance would be nice. What PSI do I need to be running? I have never changed the fuel filter.. I don't know where it is.. I have had the car for about 1 year and have out about 10k miles. Fuel injectors are stock. I need to upgrade just lost my job and open a business so money is kind of tight right now. If I find a great deal on injectors then I will pick some up. Thanks Raven for your help.

Mechanic was telling me possible temp sensor.

Not knowing what's happening in your corner of the country, a number of MINIs in Vancouver BC had a cold start issue when Chevron changed their fuel formulation from winter to summer gas. Once the weather warmed up, the problem went away. Might your fuel be the problem?

Different engine and sensors.....won't help.

Have you had the car checked for fault codes?

Well for Gas I have tried everything. Every Brand. Even added octane boost. Still Very rough idle when cold. I was told by a mechanic shop down the street temp sensor from day one (but they did not even look at it). For fault codes I have p0420 I think. I know its the one for catalytic converter ( Just don't remember the number). I have reset code any everything. It still does the same thing. I rather not change parts without knowing for sure what the problem is.. I can't believe with as many members not one has chimed in.

I have this same issue, but it never stalls. Just rough for first 10 seconds. Amazing when warmed up.

Where is the engine temp sensor on an R53??
