New Borla Exhause - Need oem hanger?

Hey guys, i posted this in the non-s section, but nobody replied; I assume the answer is the same for both s and non-s minis.

My exhaust hanger on my '03 Mini non-s rusted away as many of yours have before it. My exhaust also looks quite shabby.

My question is this: If i get a Borla 140030 cat back, do i still need to purchase the $85 hanger as well?

Thanks in advance!

My Borla Sport system came with hangers already welded onto the mufflers. 8 years on, and the mufflers are rust free, the center pipe has surface rust, and the tips are rusted out on the outward edge - but I've never cleaned them.

No you don't. The Borlas fit well but they don't last as long as other exhausts. Also consider the Stratmosphere.

Yea my experience with aftermarket exhausts is that they tend to come with their own set of hangers. Good luck!

Helix13mini, what fails on Borlas? My Alta has developed a new rattle and I was actually thinking about Borla.

The inner resonator cage on the 'Race' exhaust can fail, causing a rattle, and rear hangers can break.

That having been said, all exhausts can fail. They are subjected to harsh conditions, and even a stainless exhaust can corrode. I don't think that Borla is a benchmark of low quality. My main complaint has been their warranty service, which has been bad for us. They have what they call a million mile warranty. What really exists is a series of hurdles to getting a replacement part which makes getting a broken exhaust warranted very, very difficult. We have been left holding the bag when there is a gap between what they claim is a warranty and what actually exists.
