MPH with a tune

Hi all
I am getting a dyno tune soon from Jan and wanted to know what kind of top speed you are showing. I would like to acheive a solid 150 mph with some pull to spare at the track, can I expect this? My car will be damn near bone stock and Im not planning on any exhuast or engine mods. I had an SVT focus for a few years that hit that so I would like to get the mini to that point as well.

I may be the only one that an legally discus this at this point. (As I am in Germany and have the availability of roads with no speed limit)
My MCS will pull hard ALL THE WAY to 150 mph! I do it almost daily when I have the tune uploaded from Jan. I throw the tune on it for a few days and then reload the stock to control myself. With this tune it is REALLY hard not to drive fast.
Id does, however, stop accelerating at 150-151mph It isn't like a rev limiter but a speed limiter so there is not hard cut off like a rev limiter.

It pisses off many European car owners to have a Mini eat them for lunch!

Is that GPS speed or speedometer speed? My speedo says 152 when I'm on the autobahn, completely stock, which I know is completely wrong. My GPS says I do 140 which is obviously more accurate.

Had a Mercedes 500e VERY slowly creep away from me. Max on a 500e is listed as 155mph.

Thanks guys thats what I wanted to know. I do want to stress this IS only for track use and academic. I am used to tracking enzo's, saleen s7's and lambo's so I would like a bit more power on the track. To answer the next question I was one of the lead technicians for Saleen on the S7 for three years. Tends to get you close to a lot of expensive cars and owners willing to throw you the keys.

I cant talk about how fast I have had the S7 up to on the street but I did have the Enzo up to 200 mph on the Mexico City Track. The sensation you get from that kind of speed cant be described. The funny thing about most super cars is that in the end they are all help together by silcone, epoxy and zip ties. I would go through two or three tubes of silcone just to make the carbon body air tight. It's really kind of sad.......

Now that I would at least give my left pinky to do. Bucatti had just put it out when I left the business for greener pastures. Last car was the 1000 horse power twin turbo S7 at Fontana. Fast car but still not as fast as the Veyron due to all of the down force the car creates. Your King trumps my Queen you lucky devil.

My god how does one get to do what you guys do?! Also Graham Hill, sorry to hear about the incident with the cop seeing as I am training to be a State Police officer myself. I for one would have a hard time pulling over an exotic car and issuing them a ticket.

I fell into it, I did engineering work for Mazda Motors of America then got laid off and applied for an electrical engineering job for a random company in the paper. Turned out to be Saleen and went down hill from there. Anyone in the performance car industry can atest to it's a labor of love and you definetly dont do it for the money. 6 days a week 10-12 hours a day.

Look I have driven faster than I should on the road and I would hope a cop wouldn't hesitate to pull me over there are just way to many things that can go wrong. Closed street and or track.

Man, how does the car feel at 150mph? Stable? Also... how do the windshield wipers do at that speed? i've gotten them buzzing a little only doing 75mph on a windy day

Don't do 150 in the rain.. wipers will not clear at all!!!

At 150 the car is solid like a rock. I couldn't ask for a better ride at that speed.

I didn't mean actually using the wipers at 150mph I just noticed sometimes even when not in use, they start to buzz a little for me at high speeds, because of the wind.

And wow, i'm impressed you say the car is very solid at the speed, especially since it's not exactly too aerodynamic. Maybe the wing holds it down? haha
