Drivetrain Lubing the Supercharger....
Lubing the Supercharger....
I was at Mini Mania a couple weeks ago and heard a discussion about lubing/oiling the supercharger. Apparently, there are two fill holes, one at either end of the supercharger, that you can open up and put in some oil. What can anyone tell me about this?
True?
Is it part of a regular scheduled service?
What oil to use?
How much?
How do you get at the plugs?
Are there drain plugs?
Anything else?
Thanks much!

Yes there are two:
- One in the front, very tight but possible to get to
- One in the rear, behind the water pump, only possible to get to by removing the water pump
To do it properly you'll need to pull the supercharger. Not really labor intensive, just time consuming if you haven't done it before.
You'll want to pull the charger, then take off both ends to inspect the gears. Clean it out, reattach both ends with anaerobic sealer, then fill with GM Supercharger Oil. You can pick it up from any Chevy dealer. I filled mine 6oz in the nose, 2oz in the rear.

It's hard to say since I did it while I was doing my head swap. I would give yourself the afternoon and evening to do it if you never done it before.
