Silicone Hoses

I was just wondering if they make any difference over the stock hose when adding an aftermarket intake? Has anyone done before and after tests?

We had a customer get an independant dyno run before and after the inlet hose. You definitely gain a few ponies!

It was ALTA intake with stock hose VS. Intake W/ALTA silicone hose.

Many find you must be VERY careful installing the hose...it tends to pop off where you cannot see it down low, letting the car suck dirty, unfilted air in.
I think most other users find a few fractions of a HP...the hose does look cool, but feel the inside of the silcone hose...it is NOT smooth due to how it is made..a bit better than factory maybe...the inside of the factory one is not too bad....

Why under comments at the bottom does it say Stock airbox...and comments at the top full Alta intake with hose....no mention of just a hose change.... But a full CAI.

Jarid probably made a mistake, theres no way a hose can make 13hp over stock hose.

How would you guys rate the forge hose? Is it also ribbed inside and does it pop too?

oops you are right. I am pretty sure we have the dyno runs saved on our dyno from my GP when we went from my stock jcw box to inlet hose. I will do some digging!

On my GP it was either 3 or 4 hp I dont remember. It was THE first performance mod (other than my whalen ****) back in 06 It was installed at a dyno day here at ALTA. I wasnt too keen on the ALTA airbox at the time because I liked mine...but Jeff said that IF the hose didnt show HP I wouldnt have to pay for it...but it DID!!

The Oval Mini IC boots and intake stock inlet hoses are perfectly fine and do not need to be replaced at all.
*Only if ripped if damaged, then replace with Stock replacements.
The stock parts are made of rubber and flex and seal better than the overpriced silicone parts period.
No BS sales graph is going to show anything different.
Believe it or not all silicone hoses will leak because they do not seal well as rubber and they are just overpriced colored bling parts.
If you do not believe me Look at any real mini track car or ask the techs and builders that build them.
All of them will choose stock rubber parts over silly~cone bling everytime.
Also all aftermarket Coils and "Super type plug Wires" fall into the same catagory. (Big waist of money)
