Just installed the PILO Ignition System in my MCS and I can't believe the difference. My car is so much smoother and has lost the stumble when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. The MINI rev's smoothly all the way to the red line with no hesitation. I definatly recommend this mod to anyone interested. Product is top shelf quality, easy to install, about 30 minutes, and is a direct replacement. Dan is great to deal with and will offer all kinds of support. EXCELLENT UPGRADE!

That's good to hear, I'm thinking of doing this Mod myself. I already have the Magnecor wires, and I was thinking of upgrading the Coil. Thanks!

He got it direct from Pilo Racing. Check out http://www.thepilo.com They are in stock, and ready to ship.

Glad that it made so large of a difference in your car

Thanks

Dan:
Is re-gapping/replacing the plugs required when using the new coil, or just recommended?

Pretty sure it's not required, but I think you get the maximum benefit from the system with the plugs as well. You definitely don't need the plugs though, stock works fine with the system...

Gapping is not needed, but will inprove efficiency, and performace. If you ge new plugs, they will come pre-gapped already.

Thanks

My inquiry/interest about this very system via PM to Dan (thanks for the quick reply, Dan!) just grew with D.D.'s feedback/thread . Dan -- for my CVT that I autocross, would you recommend the 'standard' or the 'one level colder' option? [BTW, I'm planning on getting the BMP/ProMini intake & that'll be my only engine mod for the time being.] Many thanks & take it easy

Erik,

You only need one lever colder if you have the supercharger with a smaller pulley in a warm climate. It will not help you, if not lower performance when used on a low boost car.

Thanks
