Engine project possibility

A question that might lead to lots of others on this one. I have an opportunity to take a blown piston in #4 of an R50 motor and rebuild it. I have an 06 MCS and my idea is to take this motor if it's block is good and build it with a turbo or supercharger and drop it in as a replacement for my stock motor?? Kind of like a spare project engine/winter project. I'm thinking they are the same with the only difference on the R53 is the super charger. I know it all depends on the condition of the block and other damage.. The question is can an R50 motor fit an R53 tranny and engine bay without serious modifications?

The crank, rods, and pistons are different, among a few other differances but, theroreticly it is possible. the dimensions of the outside of the block are the same, and everything that bolts to the block will swap over.

The W10B16A (R50 motor) has 10.2:1 compression and no oil squirters.

The W11B16A (R53 motor) has 8.3:1 compression and has the important oil squirters.

In addition to the oil squirters, all MCS internals are forged. The connecting rods in particular are crack-forged. Stick with MCS parts for MCS projects.

Right and the rods can handle a lot to the point its scary, and then pistons better to go with aftermarket forged (JE, CP, etc)
