Brake bias is the proportion of braking performed by the front brakes versus the back brakes. By changing the front brakes to something a lot bigger, you can change to proportion of braking doneby the front or back. Sometimes, this leads to more oversteer or understeer during trailing brake application.

Take a look at this: http://www.tceperformanceproducts.co...alculator.html

Daemon2,

What wheels are those? Do you use spacers? Looks like 18" which are too large for me.

Most of the Mini OEM 17" wheels will not fit the plus 3.

shouldn't have to worry about brake bias in the R56s... EBD takes care of that... cars without electronic brake force distribution DO need to worry about oversized rotors and all that tho... but at least to my knowledge a front only bbk wouldn't destroy anything with the cars braking.. its mostly for show... if you want the flava flav bling and hoop la of a bbk then go you... but pads, lines, rotors and fluid on stock calipers will do just the same job for 98% of people out there...

not to mention with maxed out stock calipers you have WAY more wheel options...

TCE - Front Plus 3: The 13" kit. $1295
Rear Plus 2b: The Parking Brake kit. R56-$989

Get Front Plus 4 if you are a serious track user.

Brake bias is just the proportion of braking front versus rear. EBD is a different concept.

On track, the axiom that bigger is generally better is generally true but not always because there are always trade offs to make. For the Plus 4 kit, if you have to go to an 18" wheel, then it will not be that good. I think the best track kit is Plus 3.1. You do not need more than a 13" rotor on a small car like the Mini. The rear brakes are generally not that important in a FWD.
