I'm sure someone has. If you wanna ask a real crazy question, ask, "Does anyone have a bone stock Mini?"

Yep. Love mine but exhaust can be a bit anoying at times for some people. I upgraded to factory jcw exhaust and that is one of my fav upgrades. Try doing a search or check out jcw sub forum. Lots of threads n these topics.

The engine in my 2007 MCS is bone stock. Considered the upgrade, but decided not. From the reports and dyno charts, it seems that the JCW kit makes for more power at high revs at the cost of torque at the low revs. This would probably be useful on track, but I felt that it would not be a great trade-off for street. The low-end torque contributes significantly to street enjoyment, IMO.

I drive my car hard and I don't feel any missing torque on the low end. I would say that the combination of the tuning kit, JCW factory exhaust and very light wheels/tires has transformed my standard S into a MINI rocket. I am sure there are even faster MINIs out there (on this forum and in my local club) but I am very satisfied with the performance improvements. Also, the overall power band is much more linear and smoother now, which I really like, and it pulls really strong past 5K RPM which it didn't do before the JCW kit install.

Also, just as a note, (not going to get into specifics) but my MINI hangs pretty well with at least one stock (engine) BMW E46 M3. I am not saying my MINI is faster than a M3 but it holds it's own and is definitely not embarrassed (far from it..) in either the straights or the twisties. I actually let the M3 owner (professional instructor at DE schools) drive my MINI and he was very impressed and said he thought he could drive my MINI faster through the twisties than he could his M3. I know the M3 is much heavier but his suspension was tuned for the track and it had upgraded CSL brakes.

I am sure I could get more power out of my MINI but I am very satisfied. I have plenty of low end torque plus all of the other benefits that I mentioned.

Only issue I had was the JCW tuning kit exhaust. For me, it droned under load on the highway. It does not bother other owners for whatever reason but it drove me nuts when I took long trips.

You give a lot of good info. here. Did you upgrade your MCS S at the dealer? How much does it cost for parts and labor? Thanks,

Is going for the JCW worthwhile if you are also getting the RMW tune?

Through MINI, it looks like its just Intake, Exhaust, and JCW tune. However, I will be getting the RMW tune. Are there other things that MINI does not mention that makes the JCW kit a good option for the $$$ it costs?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it'd be a big waste of money, you'd only be paying for an intake and exhaust
