Post-tune P1689 error code - any ideas?

So I recently had a tune done and have had about a dozen limp modes due to P1689 codes. Any idea on what the reason is for this and/or how to fix it?

Thanks!

When the traction control light comes on, how long does it take to go into limp mode? Either there is a dirty or bad wheel sensor.

The traction control light doesnt come on, its the SEL and EML and it goes into limp mode immediately. I noticed its when I get up around 4000 rpm and am accelerating pretty hard.

I know this may be a crazy idea but have your tried contacting the person that tuned your car?

yup, they are talking to the software company to figure out what could be causing the error codes, i just thought I'd poke around on here and see if anyone else has had this happen before and what the cause and remedy would be.

Sorry Tyler, I looked up the wrong code.
It's a throttle body code. The only thing I can think of is to check the connection.

Thanks Steve, I will have the shop check that out. Do you think it could be related to the tune though since this wasn't happening before I got the tune?

I would not think a tune would cause a code. Anything's possible.

I believe that code is the throttle by wire only, not sure that any tune would have an effect on that piece.....

alright i will bring that up to the shop. It just really makes me scratch my head because this didn't happen a single time prior to the tune. maybe just coincidence that it happened right when i test drove my car after getting the ecu flashed.

Thanks steve

I believe this is the code I got when my throttle body "died".

Just replaced the throttle body and all was well.

We never could figure out why it was happening, as the throttle body appeared to be functioning just fine.

The GT1's advice was to replace the throttle body, so we did.

Wouldn't the stock ECU have picked up the throttle body issue though? It doesn't make sense that stock throttle body and stock ECU was fine, then the tune says the throttle body is bad. Hopefully my local shop can figure it out, good thing I left them with a full tank of gas for test drives.

Did you get the throttle response adjusted by the tuner? If so, check with your tuner.

the software company sent a new tune file that supposedly addressed the error code. I haven't had any limp modes since I picked it up last night, but the car doesnt seem to feel more powerful (from butt dyno). we'll see after some more driving.

Having the same issue from tune done by Jan at RMW 1 week ago. He also installed Big valve head, cam, 450cc injectors and headers.
