on the way home yesterday, the ses light, dsc light and eml light came on. car went into limp mode.

got it to an empty parking lot, shut it off and waited a second before starting the car. car comes back on with only the SES light and is now out of limp mode. Ran the codes this am and a p1688 came up.

All searching comes up with a stuck bypass valve on the supercharger. Funny thing is I don't have a supercharger. Any other ideas?

BTW- cleared the code and it has not reappeared?

P1688 should be "Electronic Throttle Control Monitor Level 2/3 Mass Air Flow Calculation" Not sure about that, as the 02 to 05 Mini's (non-s) don't have MAF sensors. They have T-MAP sensors (Temperature-Manifold Absolute Pressure). Bad gas? Sticky throttle control? Has it come back? What year are you driving?
