Drivetrain M45 Snout Rebuild?
"My father considers himself to be a bearing snob (no bs, he actually said that to me once) but I don't know timken from RBC, is there a problem with the Consolidated Bearing Co?"
Shouldn't be. They were competition - back in the 60's I worked for Norma Hoffman, Glenbrook Conn.

Lemme guess, no markings on the seals?
Here's one from a place near me: $9.50
Dual Lip with One Spring Shaft Seal 15mm X 28.58mm X 7mm Nitrile lip. It has a rubber over steel construction and it looks like all of your seals are steel over rubber. I don't know if it would matter much. The next closest seal that they had with a steel outer and dual lip was 15 x 35 x 7.
From Applied.com. (You have to be patient with their online catalog, to get it to work I had to select a category on the left and then choose from the pop-up links in center of the page.)
Turns out Consolidated Bearing, INA, SKF and *** all make the appropriately sized and sealed bearings. Looking at your most recent pictures, I am assuming that you only flipped over the seals in the second picture. I found Consolidated's on Motion Industries catalog.

That would be great if there is a sealed needle bearing available.

Not at the time...
it is now. (now where is that dope slap smiley?) The first time I pressed the shaft in it was rubbing against the new pulley. Repressed the shaft and tossed the ring because I didn't want it to rub against my new pulley. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I have a call into motion industries but there is apparently a language barrier where I am calling it a internal tooth push-on retainer and the rep thinks that I am speaking Urdu.
The shaft should protrude 1" from snout housing; at least that's what I've measured from my stock blower and the 2005 blower that I refreshed. What type of pulley are you using?

Hey Jeremy...As usual, nice work!
The Mynes Headers we put together in my car is still OK and code free man!
How's that classic Mini you were rebuilding last year?
Thanks for sharing your project.

Great to hear your header and cat are still working for you Ed.
The Classic Mini was completed and returned to the road last summer. Our club member was very happy to have it on the road again! I may have a right hand drive New Zealand Mini to put back together during the upcoming hunting season.
Let me know when you want to put in that RMW or NS cam or any other goodie part ok.
Kemopots you'll love that wee upgrade you got from Way Motor Works. Let us know if you find a source for the rear needle bearings. I found a guy on Ebay selling some for a M112 for $60 a piece.

Before I toss out the bearings I have found, please confirm that the measurements are 10mm I.D. (shaft diameter), 14mm O.D. (housing diameter), 12mm Width. I have some guy claiming to be selling the bearings for $15 apiece but he doesn't provide a picture and I don't think his are using a seal so likely a no go. However, there is a koyo bearing that is sealed on both ends.
If those aren't the dimensions are there manufacturer's marks on the bearings?

Are you talking about the dinky water pump bearings? I've not removed that wee bearing or torn apart the water pump drive. The rear rotor pack bearings are 27mm OD by 17mm ID by 22.15mm in height.
