Drivetrain Scangauge II, accurate?
MPH was accurate, after several fill-ups the tank to empty was accurate, the MPG is within at least 1MPG. RPMs are dead on. The xguage of HP seems a little off, but it works "voodoo" as Blimey calls it, to make that calculation.
i have one. programmed it to the correct elevation, and yes its fairly accurate. everything on it is really good, i love how it reads the temps, but like stated above, the HP xguage isnt all that great. But yes, id recommend it, i find it to be the best thing in our cars.

We were the first MINI vendor to sell the scangaugeII. We started using it a few years ago and liked it so much I started carrying it. I think it is very accurate, as long as you set it up correctly with the correct engine size, fuel tank size and you can even correct for wheel and tire size. Personally the thing I use it most for is monitoring coolant temp. You can't go wrong with one, especially with the amount of info you get for the price.

ah!
I want to go to AMVIV but hate putting miles on the MINI.
=/
I guess I should just bite the bullet and go.

I assume this requires running a wire from the OBDII port up to wherever the gauge is going to sit. Are there any wireless versions?
Question Way Motor Works:
Where is the Scangauge typically mounted on a MCS w/Nav, and how are the wires (cleanly) routed to connect it?
I've seen pictures of them mounted under the toggle switches on R50/R53 MINIs. I think that's a great place for them. I believe there is also a mount available that places them beside the tachometer.

If you search for some of the recent scangauge threads there's lots of photos/ideas for mounting.
I have posted just like above and find it very practical for keeping an eye on things. Besides it provides entertainment when you're stuck in traffic crawling and observe all the temps rise. Got mine from Way, it's been very accurate from what I can tell and easy to program. Only question I may have is how accurate the boost is.
