92K on R53 change to 19% and 380?

Hey guys:

I did a search on 19% pulleys. The posts were from about 2 to 3 years ago. Anyway I have a R53 with 92k miles, CAI, 15% pulley, Invidia cat back, and dyno tune done by LDG. About 20K miles ago I put in colder plugs the brisk DOR14LGS-T and Kingston wires.

My driving style is like Grandma. I shift at about 3 to 3.5K I cruise at about 4K and rarely go to 5K. I would like more low end power.

As the last of any MODS on this car I was thinking of the HELIX 19%, 380 injectors, and GIAC since I am taking my car up there for additional repairs. On a high milage vehicle will this combo add to any wear and tear on components? I would definately like to hear from people that have had these MODS done and have approached the 90K miles threshold.

The parts on my car are starting to go with age. I have or will replace the header, upper engine mount, oil pan gasket, head gasket, control arm bushings. My concern now is about when the will SC give out. I believe people are getting about 110K on their original. Please correct me if I am wrong. Everything else seemed to give up the ghost when it was supposed to.

If it were me, I would start with the JCW 380's and have another tune done. Doubt the smaller pulley will help that much more. And you said, there will probably be some maintenance down the road.

Meantime search for a new/used SC with low hrs. Not sure if all rebuilders are replacing the bearings on the back side of the SC or not. And I hear some are actually glued back ( doesn't always hold ) so buyer beware.

Know your vendor for any SC rebuild.

Thanks for your post Gray Raven. I am not that good technically with my mini, but I think that your suggested MODS are very reasonable. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I am thinking with the larger injectors, the CAI, and 15% pulley the car should act more like a JCW. I am thinking of going 380 injectors and GIAC tune for 15% pulley.

In the old thread that I have read people have stated that they were somewhat disappointed when they went 19% from 15% with the GIAC and 380s. It took time to notice any real change in the powerband. The change was not noticeable immediately.

In my last dyno run the car put down 173hp at the wheels I was very disappointed, but that was with plugs that had 70K miles on them. Since then I have replaced the plugs with colder Brisk plugs.

Please forgive my ignorance, but what are some of the immediate differences that I may experience by sticking with my old 15% pulley and larger injectors?
