Just wanted to give thanks to Jan of RMW and the guy's at Church's!! My R53 never felt better and the gains were terrific! For anyone who needs a tune, RMW is the way to go! Thanks so much Jan!!

had it done at Church's Automotive Counseling in Wilmington, CA. Very nice guys.

But if its out of reach, check out Jan's remote tunes, I here they are really good

 

He had his computer custom Dino tuned.

 

Sorry thought you said WHERE, yea custom tune from Jan. Dyno-ed my car for best results then tuned it accordingly. With around 20hp gain!

 

Not just the numbers either, wait till ya run it on the track or twisties. The power band is so much broader, runs so sweet!

PS: Got mine done over a year ago and I've still got a big grin on my face!

Kinda of a stupid question, but what does a tune entail exactly? Is it mechanical or CPU reprograming? If so, is it bad for your Cooper over its lifetime? And what's it cost?

 

A tune is reprograming the ECU, no hard parts. Every car being a bit different; the best way to do this is on a Dyno where the ECU is tuned to your exact car. Done correctly (Jan does) a tune will not effect the life of your motor or cause any decrease in gas mileage under normal driving conditions.

As hard part mods (pulley, header, exhaust, etc) are added, their benefits are even more amplified by a tune... The sum is greater than the parts!

 

the exhaust is just a straight back exhaust. 2.5" piping directly from the cat to a magnaflow muffler with a drop down tail pipe. The pipe actually drops down right before the battery area. Its pretty sick and the power gain was really sweet when i got it.

 

That's slick. So no need to cut the battery box.
