Drivetrain K & N air filter replacement
K & N air filter replacement
Has anyone with an 06 Mini S made the switch from the stock air filter to the drop in K & N air filter replacement ?
Not the cold air type, but using just the stock air filter holder...............
If so, any noticeable changes ?

Understand that the K&N will probably get you a few horsepower at the expense of less filtration.
I'm a little wary of K&N's products as the oil in the filter can coat heated-wire type airflow sensors, causing problems.
I'd recommend using either the stock Mahle filters or ITG foam filters.
I find it interesting that K&N is now promoting themselves as a "green" company in print ads, claiming that a re-usable filter is more eco-friendly.

so exactly how does a driver 'experience' a 3 HP increase?
come ON people .... don't be dupe'd
I use K&N for the reusable and cleanable factor (green????) but the best is probably a simple paper filter
