It's not just 20 dollars, it's also the price of the tune, which jan said we will be receiving some sort of deal on, but hasn't said what yet. and I'm a college student going through the Marine Corps PLC. They give me a lump sum every semester, so if it comes in time, I can defenetally get it, if it doesn't, then yes things are that tight :(

I would budget 900 to 1000 for tune and handheld ,may be cheaper but best to plan for worst case.

If you get your car tuned now, you can have Jan modify your maps later as you add more stuff for a nominal fee ($50 I think).

Lol, this is the only mod you need and the only one that really makes power, although, some things (larger intercooler) will allow Jan to give you a more aggressive tune.
Most of the starter mods, like airbox, hoses, exhaust, add very little if anything without a tune (and only a bit with the tune). The r56 isn't a cheaply made restrictive engine like what you may have come from.

Hey Jan,
I emailed you a bit ago, just wondering when you were coming to the Rochester/Buffalo, NY area. We spoke a while ago about it....
I'm interested in a tune and the remote...

There is a tune event April 4th-7th in Philly, and another tune event in Connecticut late May....

That'd prob be a decently far drive for you, but Jan doesn't come to the northeast that often, so I would jump on any opportunity you can.

So, if I add my name to the list, and eventually upload one of Jan's tunes (probably canned, ie. no dyno) is there a guarantee my stock MCS will show some snap, crackle, and pop aural pleasure, and/or a little burble on the over-run, like my Son's R53?
Tell me more...

We're going to need much more than that...

That's assuming 100% of the people that signed up for it actually buy it. I'd guess at least 10% of the people bail....

OH MAN, the anticipation is killing me and Jan's place is only ~60mi from home! Dieing to get the deed done before AMVIV as it will be ~1K mile trip and should give a good idea about overall performance and mpg effect when through. Will post results if this comes to pass.

PS: Stay off Jan's back and let the man work!!
