I didn't take the e46, but I was able to keep even with him. No, not from a standing start. For one thing, I can't launch this car very well, so from a standing start, he'd probably take me no problem, especially with the rear weight transfer on a FWD car , but from a rolling start at about 35 mph up I was able to stay even.

Let me be clear I was not talking about modified M3's but basic M3's on open roads and the PA turnpike. I am not running them in a 1/4 drag race that is just stupid. Drag racing kills your car faster than anything. Put us on a track together and I could beat a stock M3. hahaha My mini corners much better and I can go wide open coming out of the corners.

The Mustang Dyno tune #'s below are from a year ago and I have made more weight reduction since then and also done other "Mods" to the car but 245 bhp was my last tune #'s. I will post up new numbers after Jan tunes my car again (for more mods) at Helix in Philly around April. Oh and all the work that has be done by Eric at Helix.

Also I got my GP IC imported and few years ago because you cannot get them in the US from the dealer. I am sure you all know this but someone asked in a PM.

If you original question is a race between: STOCK 04 MCS vs. STOCK 06 MCS JCW vs. STOCK 06 GP then YES I think the GP would win!

Show me a video and time slip of you running a 13.3 1/4 or better. Thats about what an E46 runs. E92's are around 12.7

Dude relax, I can run with them and I am not drag racing and who in the hell would drace race a lotus, that is not what is is built for. The Lotus is a track car not a 1/4 mile 69 Chevy Camaro with a big or small block and 4.11 gears. I can also beat and NHRA Top fuel drag car if we add a few corners in that 1/4 mile. LOL

If you do not believe me I really don't care. You know nothing about my car BHP or how much it weighs now or my current set up.

I had an opinion based on my experiences and I am not a web forum BS-er. Just look at my post count, meaning I read more than I post.

To each there own and this is just another glowing example of why NAM has gone down hill.

This thread seems a bit pointless, a bit baiting, and now even less informative as posts - continue.......

yup, this thread has now become pointless.

Track cars do not belong on 1/4 mile drag strips with drag cars and vise versa.

I think what people are trying to say R53 is that the MINI is more inclined to be here:Also, there might be 105 RON petrol at the Circuit or at least 97 RON at Petrol Stations near the Circuit.

lol, thanks for pointing it out. I know of all the above mentioned places but ive never done track racing before, need to make a start. But what is so wrong in using the MCS for drag racing??

The main reason i posted this topic was that I saw a video clip of a MCS running the GP ontop end (happened here in S.A).. Maybe it was a Sick GP.

The numbers are way to close to have a definitive answer to your question. Stock for stock, there is no question, but a few simple bolt-ons and the outcome could be different.

In the end, you still own a Mini that excels at turns, but not so much in straight line performance.

BTW: i LoLed at "Ghetto honda civic"...quite amusing, the ignorance...

Agreed! Lightweight, hi power front wheel drive cars have a difficult time launching, particularly due to the rear weight tranfer during acceleration. Now once your underway......

If you want to drag race, go buy a Mustang!

I thought "wow" that mini killed the m3!" When I saw it... but then taking a closer look it appears to be a modded 330i... I cant see the side vents, I had an e46 m3... it just doesnt look or sound right

I'm not hating...I own one. I've also driven a E46 M3 and don't think you can really compare the two. That Mini waxed the 3 series, I find it extremely hard to believe thats an M3. I would agree with the previous poster about it being a 330i.

it is a 330 as i pulled on a 330zhp (the performance package with more aggressive cams and an 8lb lighter flywheel than reg 330's) and with head and cam that race seems plausible.. i know a fully modded m45 mini can take an e46 m3... but not by that much
