How hard is this? One of the resellers of the Alta pullley says something about lifting the engine.
Doesn't sound like a diy job to me. If not, what should i expect for installation charges?

Randy charges $400 which includes the Alta Pulley and labor. I was quoted by a performance shop in the SF Bay Area in the high $500 range. Of course Randy can do a pulley install in 60 to 90 minutes since he has done 190+ installs. I would ask your local shop how many pulleys have they done, and what their labor rate x hours would be. I would guess it would be quoted at 3 to 4 hours. I hope this helps. As you have probably read, the pulley is totally worth it!

Yeah the thought of trying to diy with the pulley makes me soil myself... Ill be seeing the Funk DR. Randy in december for some pulley action. Ill probably still wear a diaper if that is ok with Randy

Miracle Man Randy Webb did my pulley install in June. Many miles o' smiles have passed since. My install took about an hour (fastest install for our "party" was 43 min.) I would caution against a diy, and leave this to one of the experts like Randy or Eric at Helix. A mistake could be costly, and of course, certain aspects of the warranty will be voided by your modification.

Although, I should note that there are excellent instructions for those who WANT to do it themselves on the Webb Motorsports site in the How To Forums.

Also, if you do a thread search here on NAM, you will find quite a bit of info on others experiences with installing the pulley.

It is a DIY job. It took about 2.5 hr using modest tools and two guys. This included time to check everything twice and open a beer each. I would suggest the Madness pulley as it comes with the puller and the howto on CD-rom.

Really this is a no-brainer, just have someone watch your coilpack when you jack up the engine. BTW I did the second HOWTO that is much faster.

About 3Kmi since pulley. . . no problems
