I can't believe how much tech is in cars. So if I want super duper power, I can just quadruple the height of the red line peaks. Now that you revealed your secret, I'm doing it myself. I'll start with just a 50% increase of the red line peaks.

Kidding aside, I am much more tempted to get a tune.

that's just the stock JCW map over a stock R53 map
it's only a very small portion of the entire ECU but you can see even BMW has to be able to change this too.

the R56 ecu is double the size of the R53 and the 135i/335i/M3 ecu is 2megs!!!!!!

I'll verify that the above map was mine and I had the JCW tune put on at the Dealership.. That map was just before Jan tuned my car over a year and a half ago and the tune Jan did then is still running as great as the day he did it.

Any rumor of his tunes going away are just a myth, pure and simple.

All off-topic posts have been removed from this thread. You guys can moan and complain all you want - if you continue to be unable to have a civil disagreement without blatant disrespect, belittling, name-calling, etc, then every single thread will be closed the SECOND it happens.

However, *I* am no idiot - *I* am well aware that is what many of you want - to be able to run your mouths negatively about someone or bait and start a fight to draw a reaction (and thus infractions) out of the other party. Baiting is also not allowed here, and you *will* be cited for it, which in the case of this thread, several of you were.

Act like grown-ups, and quit your whining. If you continue to argue like children you will continue to be treated like them and disciplined with slaps on the hand whenever you get out of line.

Come on! This isn't China! Please let us keep our 1st ammendment right and let us have an open debate without editing or erasing every post that has a negative opinion stated. I joined this forum 5 years ago for I could read what both sides have to say and then make a decision based upon what came across as being most reasonable to me. Stop over-moderating.

If you think that is what happened here, then you did not see the posts I removed. There were a whole bunch of posts quoting TV shows. I removed them. I could have, in addition, handed out a slew of points. I chose not to.

This part of NAM has been allowed to get out of control. It is now being enforced. The kindergarten atmosphere is going to be removed, so help me God. You all want to be allowed to act like children - when you get out of line you're going to be slapped on the hand like little children.

In MANY forums that I frequent and even work in, even just discussing discipline would be grounds for banning. Perhaps we should keep some perspective - this is the internet, it's a private site. Rules will be enforced. You do not have 1st Amendment rights in a privately owned internet forum.

I would welcome you to discuss with me via PM. If you cannot live by the NAM site guidelines you agreed to when you signed up, then I invite you to find somewhere else to take your childish arguing. It is not going to be tolerated here, whether you are a vendor or not.

DISCIPLINE
Violation of any of the above rules will result in a warning and/or "1st Strike" by the moderation team via email or PM. Interpretation and enforcement of these guidelines is done by the moderators and staff of North American Motoring and all judgments are final. It is not possible to list every possible contingency and variation on each rule, hence the need for human interpretation by the above parties for each specific case.

POLITICS & BANNING
Discussions related to politics and banning are not permitted. Comments or questions regarding banning should be sent in through the Contact Us link found in the Main Menu block.

Edited to add: In addition, most of you need to look at this from a practical perception. If you were a new member, perhaps brand new to MINIs or even brand new to tuning, the performance mods section of NAM, especially the tuning threads, are useless. They turn into a bunch of bickering between competitors and their fans. I'm here to protect and make NAM a good place for THOSE people also, not just the dozen or so of you that like to get crazy. There are many MANY of you that need to take a step back out of your own self-centered box, and see how it looks to others.
