It broke right in half one time when I dropped it. I glued it back together and is hardly shows.

Ohhhh.... Where to begin?

I have an '04 MCS. I bought it used with 33k miles in 2006.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shortly after purchase, my clutch burned out. While it had been a while since I had last driven a stick, I didn't have the car long enough to do be responsible for the damage, and I wasn't that rusty. So, chalk it up to the previous owner. But nonetheless, its takes some kinda madness behind the wheel to retire a clutch in under 2 years. The clutch, at least at the time, was not under warranty, so $2,100... (38k miles)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next, I went to my car after work, got in, lit a cigarette, hit the window control, and smashed my butt on the glass because it hadn't gone down. Burned me and the carpet. However, the local MINI dealer told me to come straight over. Within an hour the service techs had replaced both window motors and washed the car. This one was free. (44k miles) No idea of the cause, dealership suggested a faulty part
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last summer, my power steering system failed. Its funny how impossible the MINI is to steer without it. Although my car was out of warranty by now, the dealership replaced the pump, fan, and majority of the system under what they called a "Good Faith Repair." Free (53k miles) Again, no idea. I wonder though if the dealership's generosity is any kind of a sign of something quite wrong.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, last Thursday my day went to $h|T fast. I'm an education/history double major, and as a requirement, I have to do 30 hours of classroom observation this semester. I was headed to my old high school to do that day's observation- a trip of about 15 miles. I was out of cigarettes and wanted to choke one down before I got to the school. I stopped at the gas station, went in, went out, started the car and BAM! Thoroughly blown cylinder head. (63k miles) This one is the real mystery. The damage was extensive. All the exhaust valves had damage, and one was totally broken loose. The spark plug was blown out of the head, and the #2 plug shaft was devastatingly thrashed. I have opted to replace the cylinder head with a JCW. Not the most powerful, I know. But it is barely more than using the standard R53 head, and it comes with a warranty -- MAJOR PLUS. Until the JCW head arrives, the techs aren't going to be able to really get into my engine. Until then, there's no telling.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, to answer your question, yeah, my MINI has ever broke.
That said, a brand new JCW Head is in transit from Oxford now, and I have a Clubman S loaner, so life could be worse.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's the deal? Why the question? Are you having issues?

A thorough search of the forums will reveal the pains (and joys) of MINI ownership. FWIW, 3 years and 20,000 miles of trouble free driving here.
