P2187 CEL

Just started getting this yesterday. I also have no power or boost above 5k. Below 4k there seems to be no difference in power. I have ALTA boost tubes, CAI & FMIC. My first thought is that the tube running from turbo to FMIC is leaking but I won't be able to check that tube until this weekend. I installed it at the same time as the FMIC. Does the bumper have to come off to remove/replace this tube?

I don't think I will be putting this tube back on it hardly fit to begin with. Does anyone recommend a better replacement? I would prefer a true hard tube if there is one available.

Im getting the exact same thing on my mini. I live in the Philippines and there's no dealer to help me. 4-5k RPM and the car does not pull. Can you tell me what your dealer did to fix this issue? We are doing trial and error fixes here and so far, we are not successful. We tried to change the spark plugs and has the fault CEL reset. But it came back after a few kilometers....

Have you checked all the intake hoses for leaks? I think it must be a leaking boost tube.

The local autoshop inspected the hoses and found nothing. We are now suspecting the O2 sensor or dirty fuel injectors because of the quality of fuels here in our country.

Have you tried to reset the CEL? Does it come back?

P2178 gone for now

I have reset the CEL twice the first time the loss of power was still there after 5k but yesterday I had to refuel the car and reset the CEL again. The car now seems ok no CEL and it has power throughout the rpm range. I am wondering if the problem has been bad gas the whole time. I remember now the last time I filled up the pump ran really slow. It seems like I once heard that is a sign of low quality fuel.

I will let you know but for now I would suspect that the cause is your fuel injectors. Have you replaced the fuel pump?

I have not replaced the fuel pump but I have a fuel filter on order. I have drained by gas and replaced with a fresh tank. Will do that again tomorrow for the second time to make sure that the bad gas are all drained. I hope the car would run better. I will take the car tom for a 400km expressway drive

Will you still be bringing your car to the dealer for checkup? I really hope mine is just a case of bad gas. Having no dealership support here in my country is really a big big big problem....

You can replace that without taking the bumper off. It's a little bit of a pain sometimes, but it's doable. Very helpful if you can jack the car up or put it on a lift.
