Can I make exhuast tips myself?
I'm on a budget so will be doing the one ball exhaust mod, but I was hoping to ditch the beer can tips too.
I am not a big fan of any of the exhaust tip replacements online, and really like the look of simple, raw pipes coming out the back of the car. Is there an easy way to do this? A pipe cutter of course, but what could I use to fasten the tips to the muffler?

You would have to have them welded on. Raw tips are what I'm after as well.
The stock tips have double wall that hides the set screw mounting thingy.
The stock pipes would likley need to be trimmed back to facilitate the "look"
of bigger "Raw" (13 gauge or thicker) pipe.
3" to 3.25" O.D. would fill the opening in the bumper nice.

There's always the option of MINI's accessory tips...
They look good. I have seen them on sale in the past for around $70 new, and they take 15 minutes to install.
They are on the car on the left in this image:
